Thats right, Ariadne. You may only drink in establishments of my choosing, whether I am there or not.

But this time me and Mordant will be back in London for some of the weekend and seeing pacha off seems like a good thing to do. Even though we have barely been away, it'll be good to see you all.

Oh, cool! That's good news - be good to see you. So long as you approve of the venue, of course. Loomis will be back by then too.

Sorry to hear that your off - even though I've only met you twice. Will come and weep into your beer.

Fraid not. We are heading back early on Sunday. Really early. Won't be worth going to bed, early. 8am or something. Cheap flights and work made it so.

So I suppose we'll miss you this time, Bip. But there's always a next time.

Yeah Pacha, sorry to see you go mate but I'll be there to see you off.
Hmmm dunno about the pub, anyone care to recommend a good club though?

Yeah, that is going to be very important, for me at least.

Oh, by the way: this farewell bash isn't only mine. Mr. Meme Buggerer is going away as well, to Glasgow, so we shall raise our glasses to him too.

Yeah- I've decided to make this my leaving do now as well- plans have come together for me in the past week, giving the green light to a return to the rain-scalded, noir-ish north. Looking forward to seeing more of family for a while. Jobs and things being what they are, I've decided a retreat from the smoke is a good idea. An all too-familiar-sounding scenario, I guess...

yeah- we'll definitely see you for a drink at some point, o Highland-dwelling, fish-scooping, clawed mammallian one (errm, maybe just stick to bear in future)

Ar no. Sad to hear.

Now I'll doubly try to be there.

looks like Lada's prediction on the previous page is in danger of coming true..

I mean seriously, if you took London-dwelling Barbelithers as representative of London-dwellers as a whole, the last few months would have seen a terrifying mass exodus, leaving a near empty city ruled over by cruel militias and giant pigeons.. or something..

Oh I'm sad sad SAD. Just when I meet a bunch of cool people I want to hang out with, you all leave. Was it something I said?

Any sense of, like, timing, for next Saturday? (I have been working with those strange advertising agency folk for too long now. They have infiltrated my very language).

And really really good luck to you both in your new plans.

Have I missed it, or is there still the matter of the venue to be decided?

Hey Lilith, we haven't all left by anymeans! While some very lovely people have gone elsewhere, there are still some very cool peeps left in London. There's Ganesh, Zocher, sleaznation, Cherry Bomb, Lada, Flyboy, invisible_al, Haus, Moominstoat, Cholister and Ariadne. And I know that's not everyone. (and of course it should be + 2 - you and me!)

So breath easy everyone, times are a changing, but it's not the end of the world. These people are going off to new adventures and meet new people, but so are we - we're just not leaving town to do it. There are new peeps arriving in London all the time. So chill and remember that it would get really, really boring if our landscape never changed.

(Sorry to get all Pollyanna on your ass now!)

Right now that we're all sunshine and rainbows , A venue is needed. I haven't ever made it to the Pillars of Hercules, what to people think of that as a venue, or should we try something completely different? And should we try to make it to something like Turnmills or Fabric afterwards?

Come on people, the weekend is approaching!

Even more goodbyes, huh?

Have a good one, Pacha and Meme Buggerer.

This exodus from London is getting silly now. Some of you could at least start heading west. It's lovely down here but I haven't met any wierdos yet.

C'mon folks where we going? P of H?

pacha perplexa
12:56 / 29.10.02
Ghah, we're still trying to decide.

My problem with central pubs is that on saturday nights they usually get impossibly full. Are the Pillars in this category?

Concerning the clubs, Meme, the complainer, stated that Fabric and Turnmills aren't alternative enough (at least for him). What do you think, Angel? Can't say anything cause I don't know these places. Thanks for the tips, btw!

I'm posting something in conversation to try and find the opinions of people on London clubs. Wanna sort this out today.

Well, if he wants to be fussy ... tell the bloody grumpy grumbly man to pick his own club then!

I'm not much of one for alternative clubs, except kinda goth/industrial types and not everyone is really into that.

I'll go with the flow really.

What time is this shebang kicking off? I won't be hanging around for any clubbing, that's all, because of returning back here, basically, but am up for the pub-half of the evening. And much as I love the idea of central pubs... I really never liked the PoH... for no discernable reason. It just never felt right. But yeah; as far as I know I'm free. Just not for the whole night.

pacha perplexa
13:22 / 29.10.02
Paleface, worry not. The pub will probly start at six, so's planety of time for you to hag around.

Angel, goth/industrial doesn't sound bad. I just don't want to go to the Electric Ballroom again, heheh. But if that's the only option, whatever - having fun's the main thing.

Probably won't be able to do any clubbing (have to look after the dog in these times of noisy fireworks and stuff, but will try to get a dogsitter)... but pub fer deffo.

I'll be pubbing definately, wherever we decide to pub. I may have spare beds for anyone who wants to stay / puke at mine, but I cannot guarantee it at this precise moment. Will keep peps posted.

The Pillars of hercules is impossibly tiny for a large thing - we filled the place on a sunday

sorry about this stalling on making a decision- explored a few options but none have really matched the good old JC on spaciousness and sociability grounds (music ain't too loud and peeps can sprawl around the place).
So we're gonna meet here, from about 5 onwards, then definitely off to a club towards closing time- a few options there, see what suits the mood.
For those who've never been to the Jorene Celeste, turn left outside Kentish Town tube, walk for 2mins and you can't miss it.

I love it when a plan comes together!

Does this mean you'll become 'Meme the fantastically organised' now?

Cool, we have a plan, we have a pub, we even almost have a post-pub plan! Wooooohooo!

Yep.

But for those who can't come on sat., we're organizing a cafe meeting on monday afternoon/evening at some place in charing cross or london bridge or I don't know.

Misgendered Lord, ye're gonna be in at least one of the meetings, right?

I've just realised this is my reading week (2nd Nov. onwards) and I'm beginning to feel like a complete tosser for not turning up but I have to be back on the 9th and 15th November and be in Cardiff inbetween so I'll just apologise and say it's a shame I never got to have a real conversation with you Pacha. Have a good night both of you!

Janina, we'll definitelly speak again - I'll drink a lot for you plus Rothkie, Barry, SFD and June, who can't come cause they're so away (waaah)

So, just to have it clear:

Saturday, 2nd - Jorene Celeste, from 4pm.
Post-pub clubbing - to be decided on the day, probly
(I'm tending towards the Fabric)

and

Monday, 4th - some central cafe, afternoon/evening
