Sigh.

Working 2pm 'til 10pm. I come home and Snapping Turtle is already in bed, only capable of that very cute delerious sleepy talk. Past midnight, knowing I won't be tired for a few hours, and getting very lonely. Michael Fakesch on the CD player, steel guitar in my soul.

Anyone else around?

How many hours behind EST is this board? I can't tell what time it is.

I'm around; just downloading some some songs from the minibosses and looking for a site that will explain this calculus in a way that doesn't devolve into senseless mathematician speak.

Dunno time-wise. It's 00:52 in the UK, if that helps.

What are the Minibosses like? Good band name.

Hi exp. Kiss Me Deadly's on C4 in a few minutes, so I'm not going to be able to lift your boredom. Unless you read this and then decide to watch it, in which case you owe me a pint.

That said, I still owe you a CD. Arses.

I really don't know how to explain the Minibosses. They sound really good especially for what they're playing. They actually make video game music sound good.

Rothkoid! Extravagant hugs! How're you?

Dupre! S'ok. I owe Sav and Flux CDs, too. I just need a memory overhaul.

I've just started listening to the Crouching Tiger... soundtrack, but it's not matching my mood too well. Tom Waits'll do.

Aw, hugs to you both! Goth hugs, that is.

Me, I'm OK. Workwise, anyway, which is where I am now. Other ways? Not so good - still yet to move out and desperately missing people. Some more than others, o'course, but... well, it's difficult, as you can imagine. Am hanging out for holidays in a big way, at any rate. It's very odd being back.

I'm reading a bit more - mostly magick stuff, actually - and am *trying* to get a band together; something like Penthouse which will enable drunken rambling and the occasional "arrr!". We shall see.

Go the Waits! Strangely, I've had the idea of him singing Morrissey's "Sing Your Life" inna "Singapore" stylee in my head all morning...

I've been thinking about checking out some Oxbow. Everything I've heard about them sounds amazing.

It's Boards of Canada now. I think I just need that kinda plush glitchy stuff, not too obstrusive, where you can't tell whether it's full of soul or totally lacking. That or something like Morton Feldman.

How's work, Roth? Enjoying the new job? And what magicky-type stuff are you reading?

I myself may be joining a band soon (if they can be arsed to get back to me). I'm not that into them (they're not great), but I figure it'd be good to keep my hand in. Plus I haven't done a pub gig in years.

And I'm not unemployeed anymore!

One of these days I'll be able to say this.

It's kind of pathetic when you get turned down for a job working fast food.

Work's doing well - will answer sporadically due to it - but it's good. Enjoying it, actually. And it gives me cash which, once the debt's cleared, will facilitate travel...

Magick? Well, mostly Hine, at the moment, but broadening a little. Going to try to get back on track with the DMK, too.

Acksherly, go here to see what I've been reading since I've been back, and what I've got lined up. Some of it, anyway. Iffn you've got a blog, I'd urge anyone to sign up to AllConsuming. Just 'cos I think it's cool. And it'd be a good way to network and see what other barbefolk are reading. And if offers cool java on-page picture thingies! Which, admittedly, I haven't implemented yet.

As fer Oxbow? JtB has a MD I made him... seek him out, young Jedi.

Hi exp, hi everybody. At 5:30 PM I needed a nap, very badly. At 7:30 PM halfway through my Javascript class, I have become the undead.

Hi Persephone.

I'll be in London on Saturday, and I'll take a brief visit into Watkins. Won't have much money, so it'll be more to see what the second hand section throws my way (if anything). I guess it's either that or binging on Trojan boxed sets in the HMV sale (nine CDs for £20, can't go far wrong).

Honey, I'm only a temp, no glory there. So now I'll be keeping evening hours on the board as opposed to being here every six or seven minutes. I start tomorrow, which is scary. I freaked out, went to walmart, bought makeup, a hairbrush, a hairdryer, a coffee maker, (though I forgot to buy coffee or filters), hair clips, a couple hair combs, as well as various and sundry skin treatments so I can stop looking like a fifteen year old. I'm nervous. My first assignment starts tomorrow, and I'm babbling, and apparently I know how to use Excell, but I've never seen it before, so I don't really know how that works.

Eep.

Maz: look here. It'll help y'out, I think. Excel is pretty simple, really, and they probably won't be asking you to construct big spreadsheets or stuff; just use existing ones. If you can use MS prods, you should be fine.

Exp: oooh. Watkins. Nothing quite as full-strength here, but Adyar does come closer than most...

Trijhaos

Hell, I'd be more than willing to do temp work somewhere. Trijhaos, Super Errand Boy reporting for duty! I filled out an online application at Staffmark, but haven't heard anything from them yet.

My major problem is I don't have any real work experience thus it doesn't look very good on an application. I've done some unofficial stuff for a computer shop and I've worked at the school libraries, but that's it.

That's the weird part, Roth- I do know how to use Excell according to the test they gave me.

Seth

Blinder. Let me know when you're up and ready. Do you have long-play? There's a ton of stuff I can send your way if so...

I may well join the Southampton Central Library. Since hiring the rehearsal sapce I've become a bit poorer in the wallet area, so I may just have to drain their classics section. Might be a good opportunity to finally get into jazz, too (although I might turn into a bit of a twat. There's always that danger...)

The Return Of Rothkoid
00:21 / 18.09.02
I can do long-play. That mono long-play, that is; if it's fancier stereo, I dunno. Will see. May upgrade something soon, anwyay - just a matter of wait-and-see, I guess. I can send ye a stack of stuff, too - been listening to much more Zorn/Tzadik stuff lately, and am still reviewing. Classics and jazz, however, I can do. Mwahahaha. I shall dig out some stuff that I think you'd like; as soon as I've got somewhere I can put my damn stuff down.

Some Zorn sounds ace.

OK. I'm off to bed. Bed bugs'n'shite.

It's only 10:30 here and I'm already tired! This thread isn't helping any, either.

Man, whoever thought school would be so much...work!

Speaking of work, and to continue the general theme of the thread, I start my new job on Friday. It's the lowest of the retail low, but it's flexible. And I get a free Hallowe'en costume!
