Sigh. I wish I were able to be there and give many drunky toasts.

I'm doing the demo but apart from that I'm fairly free.

I is going dancing to soul music on Friday night then I'm going to enforce world peace on Saturday. Why don't we meet up after the demo? Hopefully not in Marylebone nick either.

Yeah I think I can manage 28th/29th as well and I know people are always thirsty after a march. So why not?

Sounds good to me.

Um, has anyone decided where the march is gonna finish? If it was due to end in Traf Sq, I'd say The Chandos, except I've a feeling we'll end up somewhere else.

Cherry Bomb
13:04 / 23.09.02
I say Saturday after the demo - but what does the person who this is for say?

Oh and hey, any chance I could go to the ddemo? Not sure if I'll be able to but I like the idea.

The Strobe
13:05 / 23.09.02
Am unlikely to do 28th/9th - packing on the 28th, travelling on the 29th, and have enough unpacking to do and meetings to attend to make 29th impossible as well. Could somebody Stop The War for me? Thanks.

Um, could we wait and see what Kit-Cat wants to do before we organise this around her? It being her leaving do, and all.

Yeah, Cat, where are you? We're all ears (well, not literally- I'm actually an eyebrow) and we want beers.

After the march sounds good- Kit-Cat???

I'll skip through the streets of London instilled with your Stop the War spirit Paleface. I really like the idea of someone marching waving a US flag. Seems a bit cheeky being English though...

Argh, sorry, brane destroyed by evil machinations of GRIMES chiz chiz.

Saturday evening could work, and as we all know is all right for fighting. Also it's my sodding birthday, so I suppose I might as well get a few pts out of it... was going to do something quiet and genteel, but sod it. Or Sunday. Would Sunday be any good? then we could do central without having to worry about being called names by ghastly pro-war types.

Oh, I don't bloody know...

I can't make it if it's this weekend. Have one for me, and I hope the move goes well.

Sunday good too...

Our Lady of The Two Towers
16:34 / 23.09.02
I'm good for either day, though i wonder whether most post-demo drinkers would be heading for Trafalgar Square, whether we should aim to get further away from the stinking masses and the hordes of vile diseases they carry on their skin...

Well I seem to remember the chandos near trafalgar square was a bust at May Day but there were a few pubs on the way up towards covent garden from there that were open and not too crowded. Or there's always the Princess Louise, only a short tube ride/walk.

HAHAHA - I only have lectures on Thursday and Friday this term so I'm good for Sunday or Saturday!

Or indeed the room above the MArquis of Granby, tho' it might be a bit small, depending on numbers...

I'll be there for Saturday, but staying in London till Sunday evening might be pushing things a bit..

Sooo is it looking more like saturday at some point after the demo i.e. afternoon, prolly at the Princess Louise or the Marquis of Granby? If so, might we be starting to edge our way towards a decision? We just need a rough time and a choice between those two places and we'll be sorted.

Apologies if the previous post sounds like I am addressing five-year olds, it wasn't meant to.

From my point of view Bill you don't sound condescending at all, it's just the usual Barbelith cat herding procedure being enacted that's all.

Kit Kat, what do you think? Would you like this to be your drinks session or shall we hijack it for the march aftermath, and hold something more focussed upon you at a more suitable date?

Or am I just complicating things?

11:18 / 26.09.02
Not at all... I am thinking that, since I know several people can't make this weekend (SFD and Ariadne at least) I might try and see them at a low-key sort of thing late next week. So, the PL is probably safest as we're not sure of numbers. When does the demo finish? I'd probably be getting ot the PL early-to-mid evening, I think.

I don't think we're very able to predict exactly when it will finish or how far from the PL we'll be when it does. I guess the war will have been stopped, the state smashed and utopia firmly established by early evening though. Or even that we'll get there late avo. Damn, vagueness attack...

Ariadne
12:26 / 26.09.02
It looks like I can make Saturday now. Hurray! So I'll come along - the PL suits me fine.

Though another low key (ha!) drink later in the week wouldn't go amiss.

Damnit... cannot make this weekend at all; packing, unpacking, etc - though am free next week I guess, from Weds. night onwards.

Well it's due to finish about 6pm at Trafalgar Square. That's 5 hours of insane attack mode marzipan loving it. Trafalgar to Holborn - easy walking, shall we say we'll get there when we're there.

I didn't even know where the Princess Louise was - ha - the wonders of the internet will never cease to amaze me.

Can I just mention that the march is going FROM - Embankment TO - Hyde Park. This isn't a problem, it's just that people seem to think that we will finish up in Trafalgar Square and that just isn't the case.

However, please, please correct me if I have gotten this wrong!

It'll be a nice stroll back to the PL and suitable too because it will get us away from the madding crowds.

Nope, you're quite right, I was just about to ask Janina where she got her information from...

So do people know what time your likely to get there, I've got to work in the morning but I'd like to pop along when you all get there, around 6pm right?

Bear, I think 6.00pm is a good time to aim for, but I will pm you to make sure you have my mobile number and then you can give us a bell in the pm to check how it is all going!
