I seemed to get a spontaneous visitation from I.M.P. the other night. After having read about it here, I'd not given him another thought. But in the midst of meditation a couple of days ago, I had the clearest visualisation I've had so far (I've been working on visualisation. It's not my strong point, to say the least. I only just got to color a week ago) of a buzzing bee which danced about cheekily for a bit, then buggered off.

Twas quite dramatic, and very convincing. I promptly upped and got me some honey as a reward, then got into an almighty flame-war. Tonight, I hope to turn I.M.P.s powers to forces of good, and get writing.

I've been struggling with ideas for a project lately, and bees have been popping up all over the place on campus, as well as wasps seem to be gravitating towards me. Then you bump this thread I had forgotten about - I guess the bees just weren't a good enough hint

Would you say I.M.P. is useful as a means of unblocking inspirations one already has, needing no additional ones (at least not as a starting point), translating them to action? It's not creativity for which I lack; it's I.M.Petus.

No, I.M.P. is strictly an idea hunter-seeker servitor. It's your job to put the ideas into action. But that's not to say you can't create another servitor for that task to work in conjunction with I.M.P.... I've actually done something similar with sigils. Where I'll use I.M.P. to get the ideas and then I'll cast a sigil like, "This story will be completed soon." That might work for you.

Alex Thoth, what did you do to send this Servitor into reality? How did you cast it?

I am very interested in this, because I made a Semi-Servitor last June for finals, and it worked...and it taught me a lesson in depending on magic entirely. I didn't study for a test at all, and I got 49% on it. It was a wake up call for sure, and I realized that the Universe will only come halfway for me...I gotta put in some work.

So that was actually my first real attempt at magic.

Then I join Barbelith, and find I.M.P.

I tried it out, and it's awesome.

So, how can I go about making a Servitor that is this sweet? I've got a concept, I just need to launch it in a better way than my last one.

Weeeell, Odd, Alex Thoth created a servitor a while ago named Kardonis to help with image and sex issues, and I drew him up on this har computer. I'm not ure how Kardonis is working for Alex, but he's workin wonders for moi. So that's one. I also built the fucking useless POTUS sigil from a while ago too.

If you want, maybe I can whip something up? PM me and describe the intent of what we're doing.

Oh and to answer your questions, Oddman, I was going through a bit of writer’s block and I needed something to fertilize my imagination. So bees seemed obvious. I created a sigil for it, charged it using honey, and BAM! Instant servitor. I haven’t had writer’s block since (and it’s been a while.) The sigil above was designed by our very own Fool.

About the not studying and relying solely on magic part… magic is all about studying so that was your first mistake. Live and learn, I guess. Just remember, servitors* help those who help themselves.

* and by that I mean any outside extra-dimensional force you’re employing to attain a desired result.

So, what was the process? I mean, how did you charge a sigil with honey? I've never heard of that before, and it's a very clever idea.

Also, a summary of how I.M.P. works from the beginning of this thread (might seem silly to re-post something from all of one page ago but what the hell):

1)Eat a spoonful of honey and close your eyes.

2)While you play with the honey in your mouth envision a small bee escaping your head and zipping off to gather a sweet idea

3) Swallow.

Within minutes the busy little bee will return and deposit the idea into you mind.

Walla! Very simple and easy.
