Bumping this thread because it covers a lot about it for me. A question though;

I have been performing/doing this ritual for a month or more, at each pentagram I get *shimmering* like the heat waves from a boiling kettle. Daft question but what is it? I'm guessing it's the enforcement of the ritual in the space I'm in.

I wear glasses I admit and they are clean, I do make sure of this.

*shrug*

I really wouldn't worry. Yeah, when your practice starts to actively affect your perceptual processes it can be scary, but it's all part of the gig.

Look, youre visualising to beat the band, right? You're engaging the visual part of your brain, and telling it to see things that are not "there," in any usual sense of the word; you're bound to start seeing stuff. In a way, that's what's supposed to happen. Congrats! You're doing good.

If you're worried about your vision, there's no harm in visiting your optician and making sure everything's shipshape and Bristol-fashion.

Try doing LRP with your eyes closed fully visualizing each component. Ultimately, all rituals should be performed locally and astrally at the same time.

I'm purely theorising, but I see it as the equivelent of wearing a really thick jumper. You're no longer going to notice when people tap you on the shoulder - nor are you going to be bothered by such. When you actually focus your attention on things, then you'll still be able to communicate just as well as you otherwise could.

Update :

That's a wrong theory, that one. Experience (and random things showing up to say 'hi') shows that it's less like wearing a thick jumper, more like cleaning your windows. It's easier for people outside to catch your attention when your windows are clean.

Which just goes to show, theories are worth the paper they're written on, basically.
