Bonzer. May you sub like Sir Alex Ferguson, like a footlong chicken fajita sub with barbecue sauce and cheese, like There Ain't No Love And There Ain't No Use, like fucken' Namor himself.

Rock and indeed, roll. Thank y'all. Papers signed early next week, methinks, so another week of freelance rates ensues. Am feeling pretty happy about all this, and am very appreciative of ze support.

There's been no ball-gags involved yet.

Yet.

Yup - it'll be sub-editing - which involves checking facts, checking names, correcting bad spelling and grammar, tightening copy and truncating stuff when needs be. Good work and relatively well paid as well. Congrats, old chap! Glad to see things are looking up a bit...

Good news Rothkoid- hope the general theme of Travolta-ing your personal fortunes is ongoing

Well-paid? Kinda. It's pretty good, and will hopefully enable me to move the hell out within a month and a bit, maybe earlier. THen, I'll be pouring as much as I can into debt reduction, so I can get back over there, even if it's only for a criminally holiday-length amount of time.

Sigh.

I'm not on payroll yet - still getting freelance rates - but they're taking my picture for the newsletter on Wednesday, so I figure that's as good as done. I hope.

Is sub-editing better-paid in Australia than the UK? Senior subs seem to struggle to break 30K/year around here...

But anyway, all is good. And you know what that means...

NUDE PATROL!

...30K/year... neeeeeed... neeeeeed...

Sub-editing sounds exactly the same as moderating. I could do that. Yes. Yes, I could do that.

(walks off planning world domination again)

Celebrate good times!
Yay Rothkoid.

Subbing, well its well paid and will get you in there to do other writing type stuff. Don't do it too long though or you might cross the event horizon into....editing .

Too late; I've been on the nitpicky side for far too long already. I pride myself on the ability to construct proper sentences - something it seems that many can't. Grah.

As for well paid: it's not the equivalent of £30k, but it's pretty good, considering. My shitload of debt isn't helping, though, as it's going to be funnelled straight into there, alas. So no returns just yet. But we can hope.

Aw, hell. The money's not really what I'd rather was fixed at the moment, anyway.

They took the picture today, too. It was woeful.

Haus, perhaps other people have different standards of what constitutes 'pretty good'?

"They took the picture today, too. It was woeful"

Poor Rothkoid, but these things always are terrible! The gallery/media company I worked for a couple of years ago tried to make the photos for our website kinda artsy and stylish, but we all ended up looking like rejects from 80s pop videos - all moodily shot b&w headshots...

Glad to hear things are moving, even if it's slowly, in a better direction..
