Wasn't it to do with chronic mercury poisoning, since mercury was widely used in millinery? Not sure where I remember this from, but I have a string of mental connections linking 'Alice in Wonderland', mad hatters and licking the backs of looking-glasses...

Yeah, here's a link.

ONLY NICE THINGS

Mercury fumes resulting from one of the processes of millinery, I believe...sounds like a backwards etiology, though.

And Let’s see:

I feel like taking all my clothes off
Dancing to the Rite of Spring

- I wouldn’t normally do this kind of thing

Only a pirate would do such a thing. Ninjas, naked, dancing to Stravinsky? Pull the other one.

Well exactly. The Pet Shop Boys wouldn't normally do that kind of thing, becuase they are ninjas. If they were pirates there would be nothing unusual about such behaviour at all.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

Yup, I think Ganesh has it... it was mercury poisoning.

(So off-topic it can't even see the topic from here- Cornish pasties have the trademark thick crust because they were mostly eaten by tin miners. They'd eat the meat/vegetables or what-have you, holding the fucker by the crust (with their poisonous fingers), then throw the crust onto the floor. Where it would kill the rats.)

...whoah. I double-parenthesised. Is that even allowed outside maths?...

Curse you Haus, with your merciless logic! I cleave hopelessly to my original contention, however...

REMORSE -

Ah, comics... I was REALLY into comics in high school, and in fact one of my best friends is a comic artist (Aron Wiesenfeld - heard of him?). I haven't bought any in a while though, other than the few that he's done in the last few years (Team 7, Deathblow v Wolverine). Sounds like there are lots of comic fans here, though - maybe I'll start spending some of my vinyl money on comics again. My apartment is too small to support more than a couple of collections of stuff, though...

(first, to the Haus... cause "ville" is a french feminine word, you've got to put "grand" on the feminine genre -with a "e" at the end-, and so it becomes :
"Preston est une grandE ville industrielle pres de Lancaster."
i'll let you know how much you owe me for this incredible high quality "french-in-a-nutshell" mini lesson)

and schwantz, welcome in the biiiiiig world of our pals at barbelith.
