To be honest I just wanted to post something about the weekend because I think mine was possible one of the best in my life and I'm completly buzzing even though I've hardly had any sleep.

Things happened that I can't post up on a message board, well I could but I'm too shy

So how was yours?

Mmmmmm ....ah ......soooo. ;-)

Mine was ok. Pretty busy. A musical get-together with friends on Saturday night - which was good. Lots of chores on Sunday, though.

Come on Bear - give us a hint. Otherwise we'll just have to make something up about you and you wouldn't want that now would you? Or would you ... ?

(Can you tell that I had a quiet weekend?)

I had someone staying for the weekend and we had a great time thats about it. I felt like a king though, sitting in a nice bar drinking champagne cocktails and strolling around parts of London I'd never been too. Happy.

Aw, you just made me smile soppily at my PC, Bear.

I had a quiet weekend too, pleasant enough but nothing thrilling to report.

glad you had a good one, bear! over the weekend i:

- got an infection in both ears and am pretty deaf for the next two weeks

- found out my dad has suddenly got double vision and i'm worried sick

- got a phone call from my landlady's house guest - the david icke fan - telling me how much she enjoyed meeting me. and i hadn't given her my number

- was told by a (straight) female friend that she would want to sleep with me 'if she got drunk'. wowee, that was a confidence booster!

Wasn't a bad weekend, thanks for asking. Both Ganesh and I tied up with big family stramashes and these tend to be bittersweet for both of us. However, the rest of the weekend was the usual JohnandYoko routine, mainly spent in bed. Mmmmm...

Hooray for your ecstatically happy weekend, Bear. I'm sure there will be many more.

I too had one of the best weekends ever..

Going to Oxford and declaring it to be 'SHIT!', going to London and seeing Patti Smith perform from the pulpit of a church, going to a record fair and buying three Birthday Party CDs for £15 (to the horror of all who witnessed the exchange), seeing Electrelane and some other great bands and performers at Ladyfest, near drowning under the weight of fanzines and 7" singles purchased, delighting upon learning that the copies of my 'zine I donated to the merchandise stall had all been sold, returning to Leicester at 3am to laugh at bad TV and discover that I've somehow accidentally bought a record by 'Anal Beard' entitled "My Name's Bungle and I Like Big Fun".

Well done, Bear. But I'm sure you could tell us more. Go and get drunk at lunchtime and come back and spill all.

sfd: SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR EAR INFECTION. HOPE THE DEAFNESS DOESN'T LAST TOO LONG!

I had one of those wonderfully spontaneous weekends, in a kind of 30-something sort of way. Went out for a quick pint after work on Friday and ended up staying out all evening; went over to some friends in Preston on Saturday, had tea in the sunshine and got very pissed, comandeering the stereo and giving an impromptu early-90s disco. Also managed to write 7,000 words of the nov over the weekend. And got a bit of a sun-tan in the garden. And had to dispose of two dead mice the kitties brought in as presents.

Good weekend for most then, sorry to hear about your ears sfd...

I really can't say anything more, ninja spies visit this site - but it was all very "Mrs. Robinson"

two of the best weekends in my life in a row! and now I return to RL, to my eternal chagrin: but I have discovered my own Holy Grail of porn pictures, at the slash con Red Rose (and it's not even a Blake's 7 picture!), had fifteen suggestions from other fanwriters about how to manage time passing in camera-eye-written prose, laughed an awful lot, sold 12 copies of my f/f slash zine, and a bunch of other stuff that you had to be there for.

I went to Janina's 21st, which was pretty good, and tied that in with gonig to the Hayward for the Ansel Adams/William Egglestone exhibitions. Which was good. Very good, in fact. Weekend away from home was appreciated, and I had a pretty good time - definitely better than I'd expected, which would lead it to being "pretty damn qual" and recommendations don't get much higher.

Janina also has the coolest carpet-bag coat.

Spent Friday night installing LimeWire, downloading slack-key, steel guitar, and surf music, and burning a CD, all to prepare for...

...hosting Claire's luau-themed birthday party on Saturday--seven manic 6-year-olds limbo dancing and hula-hooping, piñata a-flying, Hawaiian shirts á go-go on a perfect cloudless day.

Then Sunday, a ride into Boston for the annual festival in Chinatown.

Good weekend. Big weekend. Little sleep. Need now much coffee.

"Mrs. Robinson", eh? Brilliant!

Actually, I had a fantastic weekend as well. My new girlfriend, the love of my life, & her adorable 5-year-old daughter drove down with me to Chicago. We met up with two of my best friends, who had yet to meet her. The 5 of us went to the museum of the Art Institute of Chicago (my girlfriend's daughter wants to be an artist when she grows up, so we want to expose her to as much art as possible.), then hit the BuskerFest & watched some street theatre. My best friends got along famously with my girlfriend, & they adored her daughter. And the daughter got her first train ride, her first art museum trip, & her first exposure to street theatre.

I saw Patti Smith, who is lovely and reminds me a lot of my friend Jane...

Oh, and lost my "The Simpsons" virginity, quite big-style.

So, yes, qualified success really.

glad to hear your weekend was elemental, Bear. sounds great! *love* that feeling of being zingy due to having had so much fun.

is this a bad time to mention that as dolescum, the weekend/weeknight dichotomy has no meaning for me?

all i can do to remember what month it is most of the time...

weekend consisted of chilling, eating, sitting in cafes, trying to recover from hangover in order to get on with an orgy of packing to move house. and bumping into someone i haven't seen for about a year and sharing a hungover 'blaaah' moment of mutual caffeine ingestion.

saturday: played some neverwinter nights, then went over to my girlfriend's where we made some ultra-spicey shrimp chow fun that was amazingly delicious. then fell asleep watching Tarzan the Ape Man on video.

sunday: had a fight with the girlfriend, made up with the girlfriend, went to a wedding of the girlfriend's friends, made pals with the bartender, got cruised by a lot of friendly guys cause of blonde dye job, then got back into the city in time to catch Ziggy Stardust at a local repetory theatre.

so, pretty good.

My weekend was a roller coaster of thrills and chills. Not unlike my life at times.

As unemployed studentscum on holiday, weekends also have very little special meaning to me. However, for the sake of the thread, this weekend, I saw a very good friend, I shopped for my mum's birthday present, I walked my doggy and tried to coax him to eat for ages and ages, and also got very depressed and bent aforementioned friend's remarkably supportive and understanding ear for more ages.

This morning, however, I found out that I got into the MA course I applied for, so I am happy about that.

Went to a goth club on Friday night (I was looking for drugs! I swear!)...found some pure MDMA, so Friday was a lot of fun...brought a girl back to the house...Saturday was basically sleeping and fornicating...

Actual daylight sucked ass on Saturday because I was still under the effects of my E pill, so I didn't go anywhere, but had some people over from work to chill at my place and everyone got drunk. Except for myself, as I don't drink. Much.

It was pretty fun and exciting. I also discovered that Blondie wants to kill me for ratting her out to the cops after she tried to kill a friend from work (see "More strange tales from the bastard city").

Also, I registered for classes. Had to drop japanese because it's too many credits and puts me over 18. Why is intro to Japanese four credits instead of three like any normal language?
