I guess there was a fan excretial incident in my absence. For what it's worth I'm incredibly glad to find that this place is still here because I doubt that I would find another board of this quality or character elsewhere.

I want that too - the whole development of hte board has been around the de-emphasizing of my control and the bringing online of ways for the board to run itself. Unfortunately writing a proper worked out spec for Cal takes time and I've just started at a new job and time I would otherwise use for it gets eaten up sorting Andrew out AGAIN and AGAIN.

Can we just get a few more moderators (even temporary ones would do) for each of the fora while Tom goes and sorts his head out without the status quo of the board making that impossible? Then he can figure out what he'd like to do in peace, knowing that we can keep the place relatively clean until he returns.

Not wanting to be unbecomingly forward here, but I seem to spend an obscenely large amount of time on Barbelith at the moment, though I don't post much, I have a passable grasp of html, and I would be happy to try my hand at moderating in the Conversation, or something... I dunno if it is entirely inappropriate to self-nominate, but if more moderators are required, and if people don't just think 'Her?????? No way.', I guess self-nominating is exactly what I am doing...
