No....is joke, yes?

I don't like that at all. No sir.

Oh well.

The Natural Way
13:39 / 20.08.02
What don't you like about it?

CameronStewart
13:52 / 20.08.02
I think it's ugly.

Spatula Clarke
14:24 / 20.08.02
Is there a story link to go with that, Runce? Look's like an obvious hoax or a mock-up cover to me - for one thing, you don't release anything with more than one obvious barcode on it.

Jack Fear
15:02 / 20.08.02
It's from DC's own November solicits--though that's not to say it isn't a piece of promo art rather than the actual cover.

Randy, my dear.... I only ever get my info from the choicest, most reliable sites.

But as Mr. Fear said............

They've billed it as a "meta-collection"...which is pretty interesting, in and of itself.

Murray Hamhandler
17:57 / 20.08.02
I'll reserve judgement until I see the full-size piece, but I have to say that there's something very interesting going on w/that cover. I'm assuming that it's Bolland "remixing" his original art, yes?

yawn - thing's buddy
19:05 / 20.08.02
I'm surprised we DON'T actually have a full circle to play 'wet the jaypegg'.

wazzamattawidyooguise?

fear:

'The finest, purest application of the "remix" aesthetic I've ever seen in comics.'

yawn:

'what about the dark flex returns?!?!?!?!?!'

Jack Fear
19:30 / 20.08.02
That FLEX cover wasn't so much a remix as a cover version, wouldn't you say?

Runce, old bean, I was merely inquiring as I wished to find out if the image was originally larger and the separate covers more easily deciphered. At this distance, #s 12 and 11 look a bit shite. Quite like t'others, mind.

And I'd like to read the speech bubbles. All I can really make out is the spine to #6 - "CONTAINS KEY WORDS OUT OF CONTEXT!" Surely they wouldn't be that honest?

hypersimulation
21:04 / 20.08.02
At least it's better than the Entropy in the UK cover.

yawn - thing's buddy
07:14 / 21.08.02
yeah, entropy cuv was always a bit sandman for my tastes but I believe on further inspection it may yield the fruits we associate with invisible covers.

and fear, yeah - of course - you're right.

From the email circular about the opening of Cameron's new site:

Latest news is that I'm currently redrawing Ashley Wood's pages in the penultimate issue of Grant Morrison's INVISIBLES - making the trade paperback collected edition a sort of "director's cut."

Mmmmmmm.

LDones

Oh Shit! That's phenomenal!

22:12 / 10.09.02
Keen. Was gonna buy it before (all my trades are making the rounds of friends' coffetables and backpacks and they keep asking about Vol. 3) but now... you bet your bubkiss, mister!

Our Lady of The Two Towers
10:37 / 11.09.02
Grrr, maybe I just shouldn't buy any comics any more, just wait for Vertigo to put out the collected edition, maybe we should all do that, despite the fact that they judge whether something is worth collecting by the amount the issues sell...

Murray Hamhandler
17:34 / 11.09.02
<requisite incoherent Cam gush> Yeah. What they said. I was totally planning on buying the collection just based on the corrected artwork. But corrected artwork by the one and only Cam Stewart? My God. That's like having your cake, eating it, and getting a new donkey to boot.</requisite incoherent Cam gush>

By the way, anybody knows of a good online comic book store with 20-30% discounts?

The only one I found these days is Comics Now!, but maybe you guys know of others.
