Sorry if this has previously been asked. Just finished reading Kissing Mr Quimper thinking it was going to conclude only to find out that there are still 12 issues to read. Anyone know when they will be collected? Also are there one-offs that aren't in the previous 6 collections...
Many thanks if anyone can help.

vol 3 is coming out as in one volume "late this year", which could well mean early 2004, for all i know. there were a couple of short one-shots that i haven't read, but i don't know if they've been reprinted.

There's one short story that hasn't been reprinted: "HEXY", 6 pages of King Mob from "ABSOLUTE VERTIGO", way back when. It probably never will be reprinted either, which is a shame, cos the entire ontological structure of THE INVISIBLES - both its internal cosmology and its real-world function as hypersigil - gets thoroughly explained therein, PLUS several major dangling plot threads from the series get tied up.

Not really, mind. The story's disposable trash, but good fun with it. Just like everything else in the world...

I have the individual issues of volume 3. Hexy is the only thing I'd buy a TPB of V3 to get...

Well, I found a copy of Absolute Vertigo at Mile High Comics, broke down and orderered the damned thing....

Wasn't "Hexy" the one where he had to find a protective sigil but didn't know where or what it would be? Also featured a scene of him watching a Tory minister talking about ID cards on TV in his car? Because if so I think you're confusing it with the story from "Winter's Edge", as "Hexy" was published too early in the series' run to carry much explanation. Nor were there that many dangling plot threads running at that time..... well, y'know, comparitively, that is to say, less than six dozen...

there were the paper dolls in winters edge
also the "We are the police" strange as hell gideon stargrave story in the other winters edge--reprinted in 1 of the TPBs with no explanation.
And the Hexy story was, I believe, in Absolute Vertigo...

With all the rock&roll media and printing Morrison works are getting (see the massive x-men hc 1st year's run on Oct) I presume DC will take advantage and get Invisibles TPB Vol 3 in press soon. Has anybody learned anything about this recently?

I just hope they don't really wait for 2012 to printi it.

Wasn't there an online copy of Hexy somewhere?

Not that I've ever found. And now that I shelled out hard cash for a copy of Absolute Vertigo, I'll be pissed off if I found out otherwise.

NEW DEVELOPMENT:

Word out of the Vertigo panel at San Diego Comic Con is that Volume 3 will be released in one thick book this November.

For details, make with the clicky.

And you won't see it in the article, but (according to eyewitnesses) The Grant has confirmed that there will be corrections to the artwork. Whether this means fixing the screwed-up word balloons (see Grant's own site for details) or something more substantial (like having Ashley Wood's pages of 3.2 re-drawn) is, as yet, unclear.

Re-colouring 3.4 - 3.2. Sorting out the Ridgway laziness. Please.

The Ridgway laziness? After reading what Ashley Wood was supposed to have been drawing in 3.2, I'm surprised the man can still get a paying job.

I sure the Ashley Woods art in 3.2 looked in reality than it did in the book - as for working in the future Woods is a prime mobehind the new publisher IDWand if certain reports of the SDCC are to be believed - he and Morrison are planning on working on something new together in the future... I wouldn't be too surprized if Woods actually redraws those pages for the invisibles trade....

I think he probably just meant to add a "better" after "looked".
For my money the worst art from 3.2 was the Pander Bros' pages. Such an important moment, Jack performing "telekinesis on the quantum level", should have been an awe-inspiring vision of fucked up grandeur but instead it looked like he was some snotty scally inhaling Slimer out of "ghostbusters". hmmm... maybe grant wanted to show us that "you can take the golden boy-king messiah out of Liverpool, but...". Nah.

Not to mention the least scary gnostic demiurges imaginable.

I thought Ridgway's bits were good. Well, better anyway.

heh - myy posts should be read like the torah, there are bits missing, but not even scholars know exactly what they are or where they go...

all wrong:

ridgers was thee woist - no dowt.

thinkum:

eclipse shocker - meant to be a vesica pisces - overlapping ooniversus yeah? we got a black hole instead - thanky ridgers - you tired old horror-monger.

as for the 'don't think of midwifes' section: mein gott! cheating funt just slapped in a twirled photocopy of Bolland cover art in perhaps the lamest effort at a crowd scene I've ever seen!

seen! (I n I n all that)

and his helga - pig-dog. I nearly puked when I saw her. Look, there are more horror stories to realy but I'm at work and this is from memory so just beleive me.

Ashers addmitto was a lazy funt n all but not nearly as bad.

As for the panda lads - quite liked it. gut sense of space. and a lovely verhoeven sheen to it all.

(From All The Rage. With an amber rating, positively maybe.)

"As the last "Invisibles" trade paperback is finally announced as coming out in November, it appears that quite a bit of artwork is being changed in order to make the last few issues closer to the intended script - Ashley Wood's work being the most highlighted offender."

Yus?

Mad mental crazy.

Partaking of the elements of the original covers, but entirely other.

The finest, purest application of the "remix" aesthetic I've ever seen in comics.
