I am to the point where I hate 90% of baby boomer "Classic Rock" simply because it never EVER goes away. Led Zepplin wasn't so good that we need to hear them every hour on a Clear Channel Station 25 years after their last album. I could happily live without ever hearing "Cocaine" by Clapton again, all of the Rolling Stones's stuff except for the Let It Bleed album, the Fucking $150 a ticket Eagles, or any of the other bands that are played on classic rock stations.
They aren't classic. They are OLDIES, but the Baby Boomers who control the radio media don't want THIER music to be considered old.
Screw that.
It's over 30 years old and SOUNDS over 30 years old.
It's been played into the ground. Takin' Care of Business never EVER needs to be played on the radio, in a commercial or even as bumper music ever again.
I don't know if this stuff is universally hated, but in Minneapolis, there are more "classic rock" stations than other stations PUT TOGETHER, and it makes me feel like I am living in someone's Big Chill hell. |
