Am I being thick or was anyone else puzzelled by the fact that precogs don't see Tom et al bursting through the ceiling to foil the murder? If they couldn't see the police stopping the crime, why so confident that nothing or no one else would? I was expecting this an connected paradoxes to be at the centre of the film but they seemed to be glossed over, or used haphazardly. Like the pursuit of Anderton and Agatha: they're allowed to escape at first because - it is noted - Agatha is predestined appear in the hotel room; but then the chase continues through the shopping mall. Frankly, Back To The Future deals with its internal contradictions better.
And I'm surprised that no one's mentioned Robocop. |
