Ganesh, if you have any interest at all in "that emo stuff" the "kids" are listening to these days (and if you don't mind mail from strangers, though at least a couple folks around here can vouch for my non-craziness), I'd be more than happy to make you a mix. I am on a mix-making kick, having finally found a couple new things (the Postal Service, the Gloria Record, the newish Sleater-Kinney, Division of Laura Lee, etc) that have me putting songs on repeat and dancing 'round my room.

Even if you don't want a mix, dig up something by the Postal Service. Just do it. It is pop perfection.

(And going way back to mentions of britpop...I am having my own personal Suede revival, centered around Coming Up. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing.)

Straylight - not at all. That album kicks arse in a massively glamorous way. Dog Man Star it ain't, but that's good, 'cos it's all tarted up and on the town...

When in doubt, check out the local music scene in your town, city, village...This seems to be a great way to hear new music. D/L stuff that you've heard the name of, but never heard the songs.
