One can spend a lot of time at the surreal Vector Park, created, I think, by Patrick Smith, a regular contributor to the Ganzfeld magazine.

A couple of really quite amazing little horror-adventure games using an engine similar to the old Lucasarts games like "Sam and Max Hit the Road".

5 Days A Stranger

And the sequel...

7 Days a Skeptic

Evil has no use-by date! Or something.

Ohh, this gave me a scary. Morgue no like welder!

Howsabout subservientchicken.com?

This has got to rank as one of the greatest web concepts ever! I won't spoil it by telling you any more, but I think broadband may be required here...

I'd appreciate it if people could let me know of their experiences on this site.

i have just spent a few moments with the subservient chicken. does almost exactly what it says on the tin. i don't know if it's all a big trick and that there is no giant chicken in real life, wherever that is, but he'll have you thinking you're friends in no time!

That chicken thing is odd. I told it to do some unwholesome things and it walked up to the camera and did some weird finger-stroking thing I didn't understand.

Still, it was funny when I told it to leave the room and it did.

I don't agree with these people at all but I think that you're going to appreciate this... though you may have seen it before. Perhaps I've missed something- anyhow this is from someone's marvellous sister's blog: The Chaps protest about contemporary art.

Walking through the city, I found what seemed like a quote of sorts on a pole. So, I googled it and found that it came from here.
Anyway...

I asked the chicken to dance some ballet and he did a nice job of it. Then I asked him to jump over the couch and he just scratched his head and stared at me.

I'm still really, really, really creeped out.

Thanks, just found it today. I especially liked this news:

"Radiohead to record "happy songs"
Guardian - 11 hours ago
Critically -acclaimed rock miserablists Radiohead are to release an album of covers of happy songs from the Eighties. Songs will include “Happy Talk”, “The Birdie Song”, and a duet with Cliff Richard on a startling re-interpretation of his 1988 Christmas smash “Mistletoe & Wine”
The Smiths to reform Reuters"

Not weird, this, but I like it and I couldn't find a general groovy links thread:

View from Sun

Shows you a picture of the Earth as it looks from the Sun or Moon right now (or at any given time that you like).

So if the strings break and the Moon starts to fall you can see if it's going to land on your house or not.

This is similar:

Day and Night Across the Earth

Gives five different views at once, but you have to manually enter the time you want, as it defaults to 00:00

John Hodgman's spoken word song poem "700 Hogo Names".

It consists of 700 imaginary hobo names. Takes about an hour to run through, and produces a zen like state of hoboawareness in the listener.

The frankly insanely bizarre Hooting Yard. The guy has a show on Resonance FM which you can point your Podcasting things at if you fancy. It's a half hour of weird shit, somewhere between fake Victorian ads, Robert Anton Wilson, and the guy down the pub who after a few drinks will tell you who the real Pope is. I'm never entirely sure what is fake, what has some basis in some sort of reality and what is one of those 'stranger than fiction' moments.

Somehow unsettling: This house looks haunted, before anyone ever lived there.

It´s a giant 1,082 feet tall ruin, that noone ever speaks of, and that can be seen from any part of town.

"The Ryugyong Hotel looms over Pyongyang like some kind of slumbering bat. Something deep inside my brain tells me that the 75° angle of the hotel’s outer walls is exactly the wrong angle; it says sinister, it says creepy, it says get away."
