Im coming to canada march 13th-17th.

anyone up for a meet on saturday, the 16th?

zoom and potus will be there, and Im fairly sure moriarty will be too, providing I can keep the grip on his arm long enough...

moriarty

Of course I'll be there. I just hope that all those years of picking up hitchikers will pay off in good karma for my trip down.

hmm. Ive been thinking that if I can afford it, maybe Ill rent a car

moriarty
17:38 / 05.02.02
What, for the trip up? Or for within Toronto? If it's for within Toronto, forget it. You can get around just fine via transit.

I should be able to steal a car, but I might hitchike just for the thrill of it. Haven't in years. It'll make me feel young again.

yes, and you are SUCH an old man

I was told the same about renting a car - where are you coming from? Im trying to get you a ride right now

moriarty
17:55 / 05.02.02
Don't worry about it. I'll be there. I won't need a ride.

I can only come if somebody drive me there.

moriarty can steal my car. and I'll hitchhike.

don't bother renting a car in toronto, unless you're planning on staying in Rexdale, or on the airport strip.

Where are you coming from, lionheart?

in the next few months. it was supposed to be before the canadian one, but Im also taking off for a "corporate retreat" at the end of this month, and my london trip will be at least a week long (I have lots of uk friends to hang with and lots of places Id like to go). so its going to have to wait a while still

Id drive you, lionheart, but Im flying. my stomach cant take 9, 10 hours in a car. ugh

and enough people have shouted at me about renting to convince me otherwise!

Going to Toronto?

Then you mustn't miss the Canada Malting Plant, a favourite attraction of tourists everywhere. Tours negotiable.

I keep saying it, and nobody but wembley listens (and agrees, and introduced me to the place anyway): Cora's Pizza on Spadina is fabulous. The. Best. Pizza. Ever. Go there, I implore you!

Mmmm, yummmm, for all you know I could be chowing down on a slice of Four Cheese pizza, or perhaps Pesto...

Jealous yet?

Depends if it's better than a Pollo Basillico from Amato's

Back briefly.
I've a car for anyone outside toronto, though relatively close, who needs a ride.
pizza sounds good. i've heard of a place, name escapes, that serves the most divine desserts under the sun. i'll get the name and see if anyone else has heard of it. checking the clubs for small bands and stuff playing, but it's a bit in advance yet. hoping for Audio Playground (playing the Rivoli Feb. 22. Go and fucking see them), but we'll see. managed to get people to cover my store that weekend, so i want to see the sunrise over the city. who's with me?

zoom.

Hey sweet things. I figure I'd best poke my head in here every now and again to see what's what. Anyone got any brilliant ideas for what to do, where to go? Limelight? Club Max? (Haven't been there in ages, don't know what it's like anymore) The Esplanade Beer Market (is that what it's called?) 'cause we all know what a lush Ms. Kittie is. And does anyone know any sort of reputable after-hours clubs? (Kind of an oxymoron, I know). I'm still keeping my eyes open for cool looking shows, but pipe up people. Let's show our american friend why everyone loves Canada.

And it's not for our strapping young lads. I've only managed to chop down 30 pines today. I'm not a real Canadian.

Ignore me. I'm feeling much better.

But I love the Dance Cave! The night spot that affords two options: a) go with lots of friends and dance your hineys off, b) go there alone and drink yourself to death.

I'm so unhip, I go there by myself and dance.

I'll have to confess that since becoming a father my clubbing has all but disappeared.

Dance Cave? What kind of tunes are we talking about?

Waitaminnit. I've been there. Big place, yeah? It was ages ago, but I think it was pretty cool.

And I'm not hip either. Maybe that's a Canadian thing too.

Zoom.

On the contrary, Captain. You're tragically hip.

Is the Dance Cave the new home of Blow Up? I heard that it had moved to Lee's. Whether it is or is not, I vote for Blow Up, seeing as half of us make that our Saturday night hotspot anyway.

In addition, I will be going to Blow Up on March 2nd, and I hope that I see one of you mofos there, if you still go.

Captain Zoom

March 2? Hmmmm. There's a whole bunch of my friends who're thinking we need to club far more than we actually do. Where's Blow Up?

Zoom.

Isn't the Dance Cave the former gothy bar that after being voted "Best Place to Pick Up" in NOW magazine, was invaded by U of T students?

hee hee.

Oh, gothy frothy. Although that might explain why I was groped there a few weeks ago...

And yes, Dr. Moriarty, Blow-Up is now at Lee's (or at the Dance Cave when there's a Saturday night concert). It's not a bad venue at all, although I still prefer Ye Olde El Mo. I still go to Blow Up rather religiously and will see you there. Get ready to bring out the big guns - I'll meet you at a quarter to Edwin Starr.

Well, I'd already finished the pizza, but here's a recreation with paper as a representation of mozarella:

ahh, I must meet you. anyone who would willingly do that just for me has to be someone utterly lovely and fantastic.

I think I shall set that as my wallpaper....

Lee's Palace/Dance Cave on the 16th? Is that what my atrophied detective skills have gleaned from the thread?
