Garden Party?! Marillion are not metal. Not even back in 1983. And especially not Garden Party. Good grief...

sounds less like a metalhead and more like a pathetic goth.

No, he was definitely into metal.

Another metaller was a guy called Mark Brant who smelled of wee.

Not that any of you smell of wee, I'm sure....

Actually, maybe you should smell of wee. I mean, what kind of hardass rock dude would want to besmirch his natural odours with something as sissy as soap or deodourant?

In honour of all you bad muthas I've taken to wearing a pig's hide as a cloak and a goats skull as a hat (sorry The Goat Of Mendes, but you had to go sometime - blood for the blood god, and all that).

No!

Seriously, I think it's really cool that you like metal: it's a form I know absolutely sod all about, so I dig reading what you guys have to say about it.

The cloak of flayed hide and stuff? Well, I'm just trying to join in with the spirit of things......

Completely forgot about Blue Oyster Cult...methinks "Godzilla" would be an excellent choice.

Brothers, Sisters! You make me proud.

I raise my sword and bello
Hail!

There have been some kick ass ideas here, but don't stop for Odin's sake!

I'm wondering should no more tears go on. It's a bit soft but rocks so much.
And ministry are an option here, I'm a rivithead snob. Ministry are a metal band with samaplers since the mind is a terrible thing to taste.

Anything from BOC would be a good addition to any compilation but then I'm a bit of a BOC fanatic.

Never, in their lives, have they written a song anything like this. With the possible exception of Market Square Heroes, their first single, which was about the cult of celebrity when Zoe Ball was just starting school...

I loved Faith No More but, even more, I prefered the first "Mr. Bungle" album.

You know, I mentioned Rock Goddess in my last post, but didn't put a word in for Girlschool.

Good to know Kim & Denise are still kicking ass in 2001...

Sure, mail me on your address and I'll send a cd over. Same for anyone else who wants one.

I may regret saying that.

Are they done yet? Cuz if not, you should put "Long Way Down To Hell" (I think it's called) by Danzig on there.

How to kill a thread. The Cd is burned and being tested as of my drive home from work. It may need tweeking but when you go from "the blood of the kings" to "some times it's dark", it'd be hard to go wrong.
It's a bit more thrash than I expected, ho hum.

anyone want a copy?
(More mix tape madness ahoy!)

Well,I can only say that creating "the-best" lists is "Hard as Rock", but there are some basic conditions like these:

The Sentinel (Judas Priest)

Holy Wars (MEGADETH)

Violator (ICED EARTH)

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (....)

Black Wind, Fire and Steel (MANOWAR)

and much more..........

PS: Inspired today, I remebered those wise words:

"The Military Inteligence
two words combined that can't make sence"

yeah totally, I saw some great ideas, took me back to my metalhead days

pretty much anything by Priest prior to Turbo would be good, but "The Sentinel" used to be one of my faves, something off of Maiden's Piece of Mind would be good, say "The Trooper", Metallica, though lame they be now, were pioneers in metal, so I'd say either "Ride the Lightning" or "Master of Puppets" or something off either of the two albums named after those songs, reminds me of says hanging out with friends of the band Overkill in NJ, so maybe some Overkill, Slayer were always interesting, so maybe "South of Heaven", Venom would just taje the cake with "Black Metal", some other people suggested FNM, but I have a hard time not seeing them as progressive, the same as Dream Theater, who I think are wonderful.

This is the funniest thread I have EVER read... GO ON METAL BROTHAS!!!!

My suggestion? I would go for Territory from Sepultura (LIVE version, PLEASE - you will think it's the apocalypse)
And The Wizard, by Black Sabbath.

*leaves room giggling*

You'll probably call me mad, but this post about heavy metal wasn't mine! My brother posted it with my nickname, goddammit.

I don't even know what's "Iced Earth".
Gotta give him a lesson in manners.
