Elmo is on the way to getting banned, I would expect.

Besides, Elmo's crap, not half as good as Oscar the Grouch.

Hey, Elmo, ya know how they make Elmers glue? Let me show you.

And if you don't know what the Tweedle Bugs are you obviously aren't from Sesame Street.

Elmo is a cynical marketing strategy, designed to rip your joi de vivre out kicking and screaming, kill it, stuff it, and sell it back to you at a scalper's price with a ribbon round its cold dead throat. And that squeaky voice, man , that sould be banned by a Geneva convention or summat.

Meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow!

Oh well, Barbelith was fun while it lasted but it seems to disintegrating right before mine eyes. Guess it's time to punch out.

Bummer.

Is it too soon to start a ban Elmo from Barbelith plea to Tom?

It's never too soon.

i actually thought the whole thing was really funny - 'specially the 'getting gum out of fur' thread - you've gotta love elmo.

but, yes. if it keeps going on and on. and on and on. it could get...

...tiresome.

Tom, I think you need to appoint a co-moderator to delete this kind of crap when you're not around. Its taking up almost the entire first page of the conversation.

Yep. If you must talk either to or about 'nuisance posters', try to confine it to a single, separate thread - like this one - which can eventually be deleted in its entirety. Try to avoid adding to forum-spamming by long-time posters with an old grudge and a new fiction-suit...

Hmmm, that never seems to work though, does it? People are always tempted to have a go back.

I say we just point out to Elmo that he's a smackhead.

Well seeing as he's just pissing about in the Conversation which, lest we forget, is for pissing about, I have no real problem with him, but this is hardly the Laila and Chrome show here, just someone with too much time and too little intelligence pissing about.

Has anyone else heard the joke about the woman in the 'Tickle-Me Elmo' factory?

ignore it. if you're that concerned about it taking up the first page, answer older threads to bring them back up. that way the elmo ones will slip down and get ignored and deleted. doesn't need a censor. the conversation is for that kind of shit, and it's not going anywhere else.

i suspect it was one of the drunken london-meet barbeloids from last night... i have no evidence for this, just my feminine intuition....

Okay, let me get this out of the way first - I'm finding this Elmo shite quite annoying. Personal preference. I'm just wondering if there are any potential issue re: precious bandwidth + stability of the board that could be jeapordised by this cute little Elmo fellow continually posting a topic every few minutes from midnight onwards?

Just askin. Tom, anyone?

Sorry but I just looked at the conversation page and the first seven "threads" were postings by Elmo. Of the 25 postings on the first page 17 were by Elmo. Thats NOT what the conversation is there for. Its eating up bandwith. Its eating up someones money. Imagine the bill if this had happened last month. It needs to be censored.

You realise Elmo is really Tom don't you?
He has finally cracked under the strain...

Kooky is right- if it bugs you don't reply to the posts. Hell, if the bandwidth thing bothers you, don't even *read* the posts.

although I did. er.

I dunno - I'm not really an advocate or fan of censorship, but I'm a damn good whiner and as such I'd just like to propose the fact that - and this is a subjective view dammit - that our cherished muppet friend is now trying to deliberately introduce white noise into the conversation forum - which the most loosely regulated forum for a good reason - but as such it does perform a function - primarily a social / introductory one - which is important to the board - and that function is getting disrupted.

of course, I'm not curing the bandwidth problem by constantly whining about this at length...

Is it possible it's revenge from Greenland for the Transformers shit? The tactics seem quite alike.

If anyone's doing it to make a point, we need to unilaterally disarm the spam weapons. That means the Transformers stuff, too. I agree with everyone who says to ignore it.

Wait... They said Greenland Posse. You said "My", implying you comprise the Greenland Posse. Does that mean that Bendt is the lone conspirator, and everyone else is just a suit?

I have just three words for all of this: 'Babies Making Love'. Is it the return of the Brighton Twarts? If so, can we send Dee Vapr and autopilot round to their houses with sticks and rocks?

You do know, don't you, that 'Elmo' is only one letter away from...

'Eloi'!
