Did anyone watch "The secrets of Pro-Wrestling"? Interesting little programme. Microphones under rings, Referees telling the stars what to do, how the moves are done, razor blades to cut themselves above the eye... Fucking nuts...

Anyway, WWF: Tough Enough- a competition to find a new WWF superstar, is a fascinating programme, shame Tara didn't make it though. The auditions were very funny, but we all knew the girl who said her dream was to be in Playboy would make the cut.

Taz was a bit harsh though.

I wonder who will win...

Anyone care to distil what makes WWF so compulsively watchable? Into a Zine article? Go on... you know you want to...

As it happens, yes. Although the elegiac qualities of the Willow were not uppermost in my mind when choosing my name.

As you may, or may not, I'm an independent wrestler in Pittsburgh. And what you all saw from Tazz in tough enough is like 1/100th of what a total bastard he can be. And thats why I love him.

And I saw Mick's arm after King of the Death matches. I even put ointment on it with a popsicle stick. It was all kinds of fucking nasty shit.

I did not know that Shirley: Cool!

I have been watching more Tough Enough, three people left this week, two girls left and Darryl, fat, stinking, slow, immature Darryl was given the boot.

Yay!

I saw Vince MacMahon's speech last night and, scarily, was oddly moved.

So, hands up who's enjoying the Agamemnon/Achilles thing going down with Stone Cold and RVD?

Plus, is anyone else finding Al Snow's minimalist, understated, laid-back, quietly amused commentary strangely siumilar to how one would imagine Frank Zappa would do colour commentary?

Guys?

Guys?

The even funnier thing is if you're in the wrestling business, Snow works in about 20 inside phrases and jokes a match.

So its even more enjoyable.

I agree about the Zappa thing, Haus... maybe it's just the 'tache, though...

Last night I heard what may be the coolest thing in the world. My mate Phil is an amateur wrestler, who's met most of the WWF wrestlers, and regularly gets letters from Stone Cold. Earlier this year, the World Wildlife Fund won a case in London upholding an agreement between them and the WWFederation, meaning that the WWFund now have sole rights to the initials 'WWF'. So (as far as I know), WWFederation have had to rebrand as WWFE - World Wrestling Federation Entertainment. This means they've had to recast the old title belts.

Stone Cold (prior to losing the WWFE heavyweight belt to Angle at Unforgiven) posted Phil his old belt. He's been the guy's hero for years... just sent him a letter one day saying that he'd be sending him a package, and that it was something he thought Phil might quite like. How hot n' groovy is that?!
