Doomed? I think not, even though I expect that "Enterprise" is now being incinerated by fanboys on newsgroups and message boards all over the internet.
I enjoyed the first episode and was much more impressed with the cast than I was with ST: Voyager. It reminded me more of Crusade or Farscape than Star Trek, which seems like a good thing to me. The Human-Vulcan tension made it a lot more interesting than the political correctness from ST: Next Generation on. I like the cast, especially Dr. Phlox with his freaky Jokeresque smile.
Does it fit in with the rest of the Star Trek franchise? No it doesn't, but that's what will keep me watching for the time being.
Yeah, the opening theme was pretty cheesy, but geez what do you expect, a custom made Jerry Goldsmith score? |
