Jeez, man. That's terrible news.

If I lived in Boston and could play the guitar, I'd totally join your band.

hmm, thinking of a virtual band project, everyone sending recordings of their work and someone mixing them, but yeah, bummer.

wow. That's quite the holiday harsh. Hope things hit the turn around asap.
Loving the virtual band idea. If I had more than a few years of piano back when I was still in single digits I submit something. As it is now Im lucky if I can remember a few bars of some Elvis tune.

Happy Yuletide you dear, dear Barbeloids. Good cheer to the lurkers, and let's all pour an eggnog on the curb for those who've gone onwards and outwards into the Blazing Isle.

Hmm, virtual band...it works for Stream of Passion, right? Thanks for the well wishes and good thoughts folks; I'm looking for other projects and bands, it's just frustrating that the lynchpin fell out, and everything else on top of that.

Speaking of everything else, looking at a new place with new roommates tomorrow. Hope they don't suck(hope the new landlord doesn't suck either).

Kirin? Who the heck?

Hmm, watching the clock roll over to Christmas Day is a little weird. I can never get to sleep before midnight anymore, though, so I'd better get used to it. I'll not give away the ending to Christmas Eve so's not to spoil the fun for those in more westerly locales than me.

I was having a really rubbish and depressed Christmas Eve until it turned midnight and I figured I could cheat a bit by opening a couple of presents. They were both so well-chosen that I suddenly had one of those "fuck, the people I care about DO actually care about me as well!" moments that makes Christmas movies so fucking nauseating, but it was really nice and made me feel a whole lot better.

Merry Christmas, Barbelith. Here's some awesome for you.

So what did you get Stoatie?

The just-published Burroughs/Kerouac novel from someone I didn't even know KNEW about my big Burroughs thing, and a book on weird comics which I didn't even know existed from my sister who I rarely speak to. I think it's because it was those particular people, and they obviously know me better than I thought they did.

Strangely, Sheena appears to have become as excitable as a child on Christmas night. She's usually fast asleep by now.

Loving the card, by the way.

Church choirs... That was lovely.

Happy Christmas everyone.

Happy Christmas StarWhisper.

Not really a big fan of the church choir. I think it may be due to the fact that I went to a small country church where the only people in tune sang as if they were trying to drown out everyone else. Not good. But still.. I miss it.

And there we go, I just got served with an eviction notice; I have to be out by the 30th. WTF justice, WTF. I'm wondering whether or not to stay in Boston; my friend out in Seattle offered to let me crash with her until I find a job and a new place out there, but I'll miss my friends here, they're like my family. Still, maybe a change of scenery would do me some good.

Blue Eyes, the actual process of eviction takes a long time. I would talk to tenants rights advocate before staying past the 30th, but it's certainly not like they're going to come in on New Years with a sheriff and remove all your stuff. The case needs to go before a judge and it tends to drag on for several weeks before they can legally evict you. The notice you got is essentially notice of their intention to go through this process.

Again, definitely seek legal counsel (its available and often free, especially in a city with as many law schools as Boston) if you plan to stay past the date they gave you. Also, the whole process is head-achy and dreadful, so head elsewhere if you have good options. I just don't want you worrying that you're going to come home on Jan 1st with the locks changed and all your shit on the lawn.

Best of luck.

i'll second palace politics' sagacity. and especially the 'good luck' part - what a palaver and a fuck, at this time of year. still, karma gets back in the end [may their chickens turn into emus and kick their dunny door down, as we say down under]

i trust 09 will be a vast improvement on this chunk of days just about whizzed by... godspeed.

Good evening, children. Is anyone up and about?

Oh I'm pretty positive that 2009 will be an improvement, just because at this point I'm burned out on personal disasters, so what else can the world throw at me? I'm kind of invincible because really, if I get shot down, told off, slapped around, etc. well then whatever, 2008 was still worse! Hehe.

I'm looking at places today; a friend of mine fairly insisted that I borrow the money off of her to put down the security and last month's on a new place, and the hue and cry from my friends at the idea of me leaving warmed the cockles of my bitter blackened heart. So while I have to pack and move in a hurry, I think everything'll be alright(even if I probably will end up on the other side of the city, a bit away from most of my friends, due to it being a lot closer to work).

Oh, and you'd better believe that I'm going to be finding a lawyer and making my ex-landlord's life a living hell through totally legal means.
