Yes, sorry, I forgot to mention here that they are all sent and should be arriving anytime. Hope you like it. Any ideas on the best way to work a downloadable version?

Hopefully these burns will work out for everyone, but if not, don't worry; I'm going to make it digitally available after everyone gets theirs.

Mix just arrived in the UK, first listen later. Possibly sitting in the bath. Wearing an eyepatch. With a parrot.

Ta!

I have mine! Thanks. And Stoat - that's horrible! Do you have any idea who it might have been?

Thank you, Tsuga! One scurvy free mix has arrived safely.

Scurvy free, now with vitamin C!
Stoat, I'm sorry, that sucks. Let me know if you want it now, and I'll make the download available to you straightaway.

Received, and am currently loving the mix. Thanks very much.

I'm loving the mix, but having problems in the car: After a couple of songs, the sound goes all lo-fi with crackling like I'm listening to AM radio. I thought it was a part of the "sonic flavour" of song three, but it continued and then got worse.

Please let me know if you ever post a download somewhere so I can try rip a new copy. If not, no biggie, I'll hunt down the songs eventually.

Thanks especially to whoever submitted the Firewater song: I used to love Cop Shoot Cop and never had heard Firewater before...

I have a theory about the disk problems - I think it's the thickness of the labels on the disks. I've noticed similar things to what y'all are reporting on CDs with print, peel & stick labels. Some players (especially the suck-'em-in kind on cars, in my experience) just don't much like them. Possibly the label rubs against something, or unbalances the spin of the disk or something.

Good call Grant.
I'll try load it on my home computer and see if I can transfer to my hard-drive. Give it a listen and see if it works then.

From what I could find, it's usually a problem with disc/burner compatibility or speed of burn; though I've never had problems with Taiyo Yudens before, they are about the best blanks you can get, and I tried a few different speeds. I used Nero for the first time, perhaps it had something to do with that. I had the tracks normalized initially, and thought that removing that element had fixed it. Sorry, I know that's really annoying and kind of ruins the experience. I've got the mix hosted already, I could go ahead and post the download, I was just waiting for everyone to get their copy first. If you guys want, let me know and I'll go ahead and link it. I've also got a bonus mix that has even more songs I'll share as well.
Should I go ahead?

Tsuga- I could do with the link, if that's okay.

Damn, that was annoying. Saw a package which was clearly a CD addressed to Stoat (so I'm assuming it was yours) and thought "I can't be arsed carrying all my post around for a couple of hours while I'm walking dogs". When I got back the package was missing. Fuckers.

some hoodlum is now listening to a very high quality mix, if it's any consolation.

Okay, try these. I'm using a new hosting service, so let me know if there are any problems or if it doesn't work for some reason:
The original, one and only,Anchor's Aweigh! mix, and an absolutely free bonus mix!
Link should be good until 11/30/08.

Again, let me know if any of you have problems downloading.

Has anyone tried the links yet? Somebody tell me if they work when you do.

Mine hasn't arrived, but I think it might be a post office mix-up or something. Ah well. I'll download from the link as soon as I can get at a reliable internet connection and let you know how it sounds, Tsuga. Thanks again for doing this man, you're awesome!

This made it all the way to Taiwan today and yeah - many many thanks to Tsuga for going to all this effort. It's a great mix of music. Like Freektemple, I used to love Cop Shoot Cop, but I'd never had a chance to listen to any Firewater, so that was nice. And I'd never even heard of Kornog or Bellowhead. I kept thinking the Alestorm track was about to become the theme from the A-Team, but I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.
I think my favorite track, after the first listen, was the military band hymn, which was rather beautiful.
Do we ever get to find out who chose what, or is that meant to remain top-secret and confidential forever?

I downloaded the tracks as well, but haven't had a chance to burn them.
Thanks again, Tsuga!

DonĀ“t we vote for our favourite track and then Tsuga reveals who sent which track?

If you guys would like to vote on a favorite, that would be fine with me.

Did anyone besides Freektemple download either of the mixes? I'd like to know how well it worked. I'm thinking that may be the way to go in the future, these mixes can be put on and out easily and quickly, without using resources.

Well, we'll see how many people actually vote. Turnout is low so far...

I'll have to give it more of a listen before I vote.
