brb, are you still "into" classical music? Can you tell us a little bit about that?

MIST: Thanks, Mist! I did very well on my quiz, despite having to listen to various sighs and moans from a bunch of ill-prepared jerks who were dying.

QALYN: I am indeed still 'into' classical music, if by 'into' you mean enthusiastic about and attracted to, rather than necessarily being very knowledgeable in this field. What would you like to know? My favorite composers are Bach and Schubert, my favorite singers are Maria Callas and Kathleen Ferrier, and here are links to a few cool people I hope you will enjoy:

Crazy-ass Glenn Gould in his bathrobe.
My favorite pianist, Tatiana Nikolayeva.
The splendid Alfred Cortot

brb, I don't mean to be a pooper, but is that the best they could do with those dragon boats? Not very special.

I would like to state for the record that although I am aware that appearances may lead the gentle reader to believe otherwise, I am not colluding with Qalyn to troll in the Policy or elsewhere.

Oh my GOD. I didn't realize that you were the only one allowed to talk about yourself. I didn't realize you were a special princess and it was your priviledge to have topic titles changed. EX-KYUUUUUUUUZE ME!

Trolling. Sheesh. Imagine a boot stamping on a human face, forever, okay? Because that is where this is going.

1. I am putting you on ignore.
2. You spelled 'privilege' incorrectly, you twat.

If there's a problem, I would recommend moderating threads to insert this image as the first and last posts.

Hopefully then we can keep this contained.

Me, Me, Me...
No wonder the world's falling to pieces... Baby penguins are drowning every day and still it's "Me, Me, Me..."

Is that the sound of the drowning penguins?

Actually, my post was about "Me, Me, Me...".
The baby penguins bit was an aside...

Y'see, the Topic & Description only mentions "Me", nobody specific...

That's what confused me to begin with.

This whole dualism thing trips me up now and again.

I have made every effort to respond straightforwardly to serious, on-topic posts in this thread. Please do not be ridiculous. "Me" refers to me, brb. This is ordinary English. I am not putting "me" sur rasure to indicate that although the term is inadequate to express everything I want to express, I don't have a better term, and so I am using it with caveats -- it just means plain old me. Please do not try to make this into a Head Shop thread, or a Temple thread, or even a joke thread.

My starting post, my title, my summary, and my subsequent posts to this thread are all very clear: this is My Thread About Me.

I do not understand why I am being harassed in a space I could not have defined any more fucking clearly.

That penguin is on topic, by the way. His belly fur has that magic eye texture. And if you stare at it the correct magic eye way, it spells brb in 3D.

Thanks, iamus. I appreciate your efforts in this thread.

Other exciting news about me: I am going to Chicago! I'm very excited. I've never been before, and I hear it's a wonderful city for the arts. I will be attending the Pitchfork Music Festival but am only there to hear one band, Public Enemy, who will perform their album "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" in its entirety.

Hi, brb! So glad to hear that you like Public Enemy. Have yoou heard Philip Glass's modern classical tribute, the "He Got Game Symphony"?

If you park in the cavernous underground public lots in downtown Chicago, do not ignore the signs that tell you to remember where your car is.

West Baltimore Hausing Project: Are you kidding me? It's a fave, right up there with 'Einstein on the Beach.' I remember when it first came out. Man, it gave me visuals...

My memory goes back to 1990, I think. No, 1991, spring.

They were cavernous enough. And although the areas *looked* unique, they weren't - they were cleverly modular, with a pattern that repeated just out of sight. So you couldn't tell where exactly you were in the pattern, or even that there was a pattern at all.

We found the car eventually.

Perhaps it's been redesigned since then.
