On the whole, the thing I enjoyed the most about the job was communication w/ customers - for every complete tool I had to deal with there were nine perfectly decent, pleasant people.
The management in retail, on the other hand, switch that ratio around - in my experience they're almost universally nasty tossers. A lot of shoppers either forget or don't realise that shop floor workers have nearly always got at least one self-important, arrogant, poisonous little nerk breathing down their necks. |
