Is this for real?

A fucking shopkeeper can have one like that? So a person can walk around the streets and fucking torture kids and babies?

Finally I can breathe in peace. I'm imagining these are the same type of folks who ask people to think of the children.

Is that a "WTF can science really do that?" or a "WTF would people really want to do that?"

WTF you can make semen out of bone marrow?

That Mosquito business reminds me of something straight out of a dystopian totalitarian novel. I can imagine a store for older folks who will never have to worry about pesky kids sneaking in again. Or to quell the local youth riots.

I wonder if you can hear that mosquito sound over your mp3 player´s music.

Not sure, but on this morning's today show, someone mentioned that some more innovative younger members of society had taken to having it as their ringtone, allowing them to totally disrupt lessons while the teachers remained oblivious.

There´s been articles about this mall mosquito thing for at least a year now. Once, there was a link to a sound file with a sample, and I could actually hear that gnat noise.

I do hope there are many more adults who hear that sound (at least subconsciously) and thus refrain from entering the store.

Where can I get one? My vocal chords are raw from screaming "Get off my lawn!*" at those punk-assed punks! (or if you prefer "young whipersnappers")

*They also climb my fruit trees, steal my fruit and break the branches.

Here's a thread about the topic from the Lab forum.

Coincidentally, I was just looking for it this morning.

With the downside being that if they have a particularly young teacher, they'll be able to hear it too- as apparently happened at my younger brother's school, leading to a student having their phone confiscated.

Bah. I'm feeling old: I can't hear that sound, but I did think maybe it was making my ears feel odd, and then realised that it was more likely my jaw hurting next to my ear from a wisdom tooth coming through.

As Stoatie just observed about this - the internet's over, it's time to go home...

I truly would love it if Ted Nugent and Dick Cheney went hunting together and both had hunting "accidents". Or pistols at dawn at point-blank. Something like that.

I have no doubt the Leftist Media will spin my death as that of an insane man with few options left in life who killed himself in desperation.

Sure, spin. What he did was totally sensible!
What freaks me out is how much his crackpot rhetoric matches that of my own father, and so many other right-wing whack jobs in the world. Or the fact that there are whack-jobs of all stripes, all around the world, with differing perspectives at the same level of reductive reasoning. People are pretty depressing sometimes.

Play and learn the proper procedure at the same time.

The sad thing is Childe F already is so familiar with the routine that she removes her shoes well in advance of getting to the scanner at airports that she's already well-programmed for high security. That and being exposed to children's TV programmes about the wonders of CCTV surveillance and the fun uses of tracking people with RFID chips.

Hehe, that toy is doomed to fail. Already, you can order it only used on amazon, and there is only one left to buy.

The reviews are nice, too:

Makes losing your rights fun!

If you're a parent, then you've probably been struggling with how to teach your kids about how much fun it is to have your rights systematically stripped from you. Kids today always seem to be whining about freedom and their "Constitutional Right" to be free of warrantless search and seizure and their "right to privacy" (whatever that is). Teaching them to be afraid of "the terrists" and explaining that Islamofascists are a monolithic, unified entity with the sole goal of destroying America because they hate us for our freedoms, so we owe to it eliminate as many freedoms as possible, is really hard. And don't get me started on the times they say, "Daddy, you mean six ounces of liquid in one bottle can blow up a plane, but two three ounce bottles can't??"

RFID chipping children in Japan, and at Legoland; in the UK; and anyhow, why will we need to put everyone on a national ID database now when it will be de facto within a generation or two and children will already be fingerprinted as teenagers anyway.

Teach 'em early that they're potential suspects from the day they're born - it's the only language they understand.

They´ve already got a national database here, we got identity cards for decades now and the recent id cards and passports got the fingerprints plus some biological infos on a chip. Our current Federal Minister of the Interior Wolfgang Schäuble is giving Big Brother a run for his money.

I gotta admit, I like the idea of everyone being on a database EXCEPT ME. Mind you, that has the one fundamental flaw that I'll be the most identifiable person IN THE WORLD, due to being the only one not on it.

So, given that it's impractical, I'll settle for not having the database in the first place.

See? Pragmatic and logical. Why does nobody ever GET this about me?

Does anybody else find that the new music on the Sky Digital EPG is really overblown and bombastic? It used to be fairly ordinary, bland musack. Now, it seems to be fully orchestrated and even has a choir. It's really bizarre. Is it a piece of stock music, or has somebody composed this fantasy epic piece of music?

Art major Aliza Shvarts ’08 wants to make a statement.

Beginning next Tuesday, Shvarts will be displaying her senior art project, a documentation of a nine-month process during which she artificially inseminated herself "as often as possible" while periodically taking abortifacient drugs to induce miscarriages. Her exhibition will feature video recordings of these forced miscarriages as well as preserved collections of the blood from the process.

Yale Daily News - For senior, abortion a medium for art, political discourse
