I'm a bit depressed, because earlier today, I tried to show a friend the opening of Beat Takeshi's Sonatine, which is just gorgeous as an establish-the-film shot... and he, having recently relapsed into a state where all things not Disney are inferior and worthless, complained that the film looked like it was made in nineteen seventy-seven.
A lot of good films were made in '77! And Sonatine wasn't one of them, being '93 flick. Urgh! to cheap criticism. |
