that other dude who's name I've thankfully forgotten

James Dobson, Focus on the Family.

NEVER FORGET.

By the way, Fresh Air just played a great interview with Falwell from 1986. He talks about how and why he founded the Moral Majority, why he changed his initial anti-political-involvement stance, how he found Jesus and how his dad shot his uncle. No hostility, no goofy antics, no mugging for the microphone. Just the facts.

Apparently Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist crew are planning on picketing Jerry Falwell's funeral.

Head, spinning.

Hahaha. So why did God hate Falwell then? For subjecting Westboro Baptist Church to market forces?

It's things like that that make me truly believe there IS a God. And that he really ISN'T anything like Phelps or Falwell would have you believe- he's one funny-ass motherfucker.

Hmm. Nope.

Wonder what they'll put on the banners? God Hates Fat Guys? God Hates Hypocrisy? God Hates Hatred?

"God hates those who don't hate enough for our taste"?

Needs editing, I suppose.

Bomb plot at Falwell's funeral.

Seems one of Falwell's Liberty University students didn't like the idea of protestors at the founder's funeral.

So he started stockpiling napalm.

And Campbell County authorities arrested a Liberty University student for having several homemade bombs in his car.

The student, 19-year-old Mark D. Uhl of Amissville, Va., reportedly told authorities that he was making the bombs to stop protesters from disrupting the funeral service. The devices were made of a combination of gasoline and detergent, a law enforcement official told ABC News' Pierre Thomas. They were "slow burn," according to the official, and would not have been very destructive.

So hold on... someone was going to blow up a funeral in order to stop it being disrupted?

These fuckers just get better and better.
