The idea of going into the sea up to the nose seems to be a reference to a test of faith almost, possibly.

It is disturbing the depths people will go to justify taking another life, or using the life of a criminal as forfeit because of a percieved transgression. Very disturbing that cultures and individuals should invest more in the act of taking lives than saving them.

But it does reflect the attitudes of a culture that thrives on war and conquest rather than peace and compassion.

Saturn's nod

Just happened upon the wikipedia summary of Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged (nod to Ex): in it her position is to argue for voluntary withdrawal from 'human sacrifice', to a position of rational selfishness.

I wonder if it is possible to take that position of withdrawing from sacrifice in order to turn revolution against the white/male supremacy powers of the world, without taking Rand's unsympathetic position towards the less advantaged.
