Oboyoboyoboy, can I start anticipating next Saturday right now?

I hate this thread. I only get to see the good dr. whenever one of my friends d/l's them, usually at least a week after they've been talked about on the barb. So Ihave to anticipate longer. I've debated moving to the Uk to remedy my situation but there doesnt seem to be any job for "watching Dr.Who"

Venger, you poor sod. Actually the anticipatory pain of all non-UK Who fans will be particularly acute this week.

You may want to schedule an appointment with a bottle of brandy, or at any rate have a nice lie down somewhere quiet, after seeing yesterday's episode.

I think anticipatory pain will effect aqll doctor who fans EVEN those in the UK this week...

Next week, apparently, the Doctor tries to make friends with one of the daleks, in a fairly disturbing way.

The dangerous man-machine hybrid is at the top of a flight of stairs, but the Doctor is a floor higher! The Doctor reaches down.

And touches one of the Dalek's weapons.

The Dalek has a lot to say about this, from here on in.

Oh, if only Doctor Who went black and white and French and there were long soft-focus shots of the Doctor and a Dalek in a pedallo, that would be great.

"I met Mademoiselle Khan in July, amid the smouldering remains of the Empire State Building, we talked of many things, philosophy and the fall of empires. She was witty but I could see a sadness in her eyestalk, and a great longing to destroy humanity in a fit of genocidal rage. She said I was impure and should be exterminated. I laughed... I wonder where she is now?"

I think the ache of anticipation I'm experiencing RIGHT NOW will force me to build a TARDIS out of paperclips and oranges.

I'm putting my real self inside a watch until 1900hrs on Saturday. Until then I'll be Bob Jones, who happens not to like Doctor Who at all, and so I'll be saved the anguish of anticipation I'd otherwise be experiencing in the interim.

You have to make sure someone gets you to open it though. Preferably not someone who loves Bob.

I had a dream, around the time this season of Dr Who started and it was
rumoured that Simm was going to be the Master, that he had this evil scheme
to hasten the apocalypse by importing loads of cheap wooden furniture into
the UK and giving it to everyone in the country for free, so everybody had
it in their houses and it was everywhere. He was then going to set it all on
fire, so that the country would be engulfed in the flames of Hell. In the
dream, I was the Doctor and RosieX was my companion, and we had to sort it
out.

It will be interesting to see whether the writers of the season finale are
going to go for the John Simm/The Master/furniture-based apocalypse scenario
when it comes down to it.

Gypsy! Spoiler-tag that speculation! You're dangerously close to the truth.

Anyway. The wait for next week is going to be hellish. I'm stocking up on classic series DVDs to make it that little bit easier. My Captain Jack Harkness action figure has been with me all day, clinging to various objects and screaming "DOCTOOOORRRR!" I've found it incessantly amusing, but other people..less so.

I misread that as "goatse". This is why the internet must be killed with fire.

He has puffy sleeves, though!

Yes, my plastic K-9 sniffed out and routed another nest of plastic Daleks earlier today (although strangely it contained exactly the same combination of 1 Dalek, 1 Cyberman, 1 Davros, 1 off-scale Dalek key-ring 3 polo mints and 1 dead spider as last time). I have to say though, having a plastic Tom Baker, K-9 and Tardis actually makes me miss plastic companions. Korgi unfortunately never produced those.

Wide sleeves should not be mentioned after goatse.

I have a whole day of work tomorrow where I'm going to do nothing but think of Doctor Who. Nobody there shares my Whooligan pain, so I'll be this highly irritable, anticipatory, probably very annoying creature all day. I wish I had tomorrow off, so I could just bound enthusiastically about the place humming the theme tune very loudly.
