Why did I promise to meet friends this evening? Why?? Thank goodness for the iPlayer.

Evil Scientist
08:14 / 05.07.08
I'm out for a few ales as soon as I get out of the lab. But the video has been set, and I shall watch the final episode from beneath an alcoholic haze when I get in tonight.

AND I SHALL HAVE GRILLED CHEESE ON TOAST TO WATCH IT WITH!

Evil Scientist

Oh, I almost forgot...

I fear, I´ll have to wait until tomorrow evening. Sunday morning, I´ll see if overnight enough Doctor Who seeds were gathered, and then will have to let them germinate. And if I´m lucky by afternoon the full episode might rear its lovely head.

Triplets
09:01 / 05.07.08
I'm watching Doctor Who before I go out. Then I'm going to a rave to do lots of drugs.

It's what the Doctor, and by Doctor I mean Jason Statham, would want I feel.

Evil Scientist
09:37 / 05.07.08
He is going to be the greatest Doctor ever. Truely, if we say it enough times it will be the truth.

iamus
10:56 / 05.07.08
I am dogsitting in Paisley, old stomping grounds of DOCTOR DAVE!

I am on my own, but I shall be waiting in to squee my head off and scare the dog.

I may go out after to drink beers and smile at people.

12:48 / 05.07.08
Who among you will let a man watch over your shoulder via webcam? PM, please.

Axolotl
13:10 / 05.07.08
It's worrying just how much I'm looking forward to this episode.

Mysterious Transfer Student
14:08 / 05.07.08
I couldn't have picked a worse weekend to sell my TV, could I? I reserve the right to be twentieth century about this and say that watching it on the I-Player isn't the same.

W0000000000T!

Yay! I didn't go home this year so I could watch Dr Who on Christmas Day*. Well worth it!

*Okay, maybe that wasn't the only reason.

Ah! The new doctor will be announced in 15 minutes. Okay, so it's unlikely to be Hugh Laurie but I'm still bloody excited. (If it is Hugh Laurie, could someone please send an ambulance to my address? I'm too young to die of a heart attack.)

Shrug
16:06 / 03.01.09
That's a bit of a pity, I think.
Still, though, give him a chance and all. :~/

Mistoffelees
16:11 / 03.01.09
Maybe he will be for Doctor Who what Craig was for Bond.

Shrug
16:31 / 03.01.09
That would've been Eccleston, hmmmm.

Alex's Grandma
16:53 / 03.01.09
Uinspired casting ... it's like Colin sh*tting Baker all over again ... thank God I don't watch this show.

Unless they're going for a hard-edged 'Ichi The Killer' approach, in which the Doctor wanders about the place in a PVC gimp suit, touching K-9 (I suppose he could call it that) at bad or at least inopportune moments, I can't see this working at all.

While the fact that a time lord will be played by someone younger than me makes me feel depressingly ancient and while I do believe that they should have maybe used some other criteria apart from hairstyle, I still think that it might just work.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

No longer writing TV and getting DVDs, so also squeeeeeeeee....

19:13 / 15.11.09
Shame that Davies seems intent on making the Doctor a bigger imbecile with each episode that goes by.

TAKE THEM TO ANOTHER PLANET, YOU TOOL. Was this solution not blatant five minutes into your finding out where you were?

Honestly, what's the point of having any characters in a story if you're just going to have the entire plot be driven by the point you ultimately want to get to? You might as well just tell us the ending immediately after the opening credits. It'd make more sense.

and bring a robot drenched in alien viruses to the centre of London. I liked, but like all RTD too heavy-handed.

Invasion of the Chapped Lips Zombies? I think not...

ALso, Evil Doctor is sort of lame.

How shit was the Christmas Day episode, by the way? (Apart from the unsinkable WIN of Cribbins and Simm, of course).

But the endless Being John Malkovich Master clones were so unscary I think the sofa was more likely to hide behind me.

we'll not get it til about march or so down under, so drat - but will watch with lights out now i know it shan't be scary... ; )

Spatula Clarke

Probably the worst episode yet. RTD clearly saves up his most idiotic ideas for the Christmas specials.

And it wasn't just the writing or the plot. The direction was terrible. Impossible to tell if anything of substance happened in the first half an hour, because the camera and the music never gave your brain the opportunity to absorb any of it.

The ending... well. I'm not sure what you can say about the ending. Other than that it managed to out-stupid the evil plan from the last time this particular bad guy was around. Some feat.

Mistoffelees
09:07 / 31.12.09
There is a rumour that this will be the end of Doctor Who and that the new season will be a complete relaunch and the new guy being the First Doctor. A clean cut to stop the RTD wound from festering.
