over in policy, haus suggested barbelith could do with a new name.

i'm assuming there will be a discussion later about whether that is a good idea (y'know, a serious discusision, one with proper arguments, and maybe even venn diagrams) and why, and regarding the need for various elements to be represented.

for now, though, i thought it might be a good idea to get the naming started.

i like 'dave'.

i did consider steve, but i figured it'd get confusing.
for one thing, NewSteve would have so many wannabe wingmen ze would probably sprain a wrist with all the high fiving.

for another, steve doesnt have anything like the gravitas of dave. this board needs a name with gravitas comin out it's ass, dude.

i'm not concerned with the why of it, or even whether it is a good idea. i just thought it'd be interesting to see what people would come up with.
