Also is Morrison's "Kid Eternity" an "end" story? I assumed that Kid and his saintly friend, were ripped apart by demons after successfully completing their mission of summoning Chaos Stars. Where can the characters go after that anyway?

Well, it's own spin-off series, I think, by Ann Nocenti. Unless that was first...

The Punisher the end : Was up there with Punisher vs Archie.
Really nice idea , but failed to work on any "practical" level in it's narrative universe. "charcters" stop using their powers and brains and just let them selfs get shot ok .. hows that a narrative ?? One mans quest for vegeance with guns agianst well at least 50+ other peoples quest for venege who are mostly bulletproof

Maybe I'm thinking of a different story but wasn't Punisher: The End the one set after a nuclear war and had no supers involved?

I think there may be some confusion between Punisher: The End and The Punisher versus the Marvel Universe...

it scares me that I know that.

jonny alpha's ending was awesome - the final solution - where in the stronty dug was pure ripped tae pieces by a truly horrific Simon Harrison creation.

Brilliant.

wish 2000ad had the balls to stay with it.

also, macca - that is a great dredd ending. perfect as boboss says.

I remember really enjoying tales of the dead man when it first ran - only to be mortified by the needless bollocks that was necropolis.

judge death was initially such a brilliant, frightening idea but soon became........well silly, really.

in retrospect, cursed earth, day the law died and the judge child - especially the judge child - seem like really quite brilliant 'epics' when compared to dross like city of the damned, necropolis etc. (even apocolypse war was a bit naff)

Don't worry Baby Brain! We can all sleep safer now.

Punisher :The End was fucking ace, and works perfectly in Ennis' 'Castleverse'. Basically we're meant to assume that after the events in 'The Cell', Frank stays in jail until the world gets all post-nukey.
So we have a great origin in 'Born', the culmination of his personal vengeance quest in 'The Cell' and a lovely final story in 'The End'. The final image of a melting Frank walking into the burning cityscape is great.
It's also the best use of Corben's bizarro artwork in a long time.
