It does seem insane, doesn't it? I'd like to see how the numbers break down. Mathematically, 128 divided by 5 is a little under 26, which is to say £1 million a fortnight. That's a lot of money for anyone, although if the owner of the LA Galaxy is rich enough, it's only like Abramovich buying a couple of players a year. However, it's also way outside the market rate - I mean, _nobody_ earns that much, do they?
I suspect it may include some sort of franchising arrangement for his soccer schools, or free advertising for them, or things like that. |
