Boeing, the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer, has admitted it is working on experimental anti-gravity projects that could overturn a century of conventional aerospace propulsion technology if the science underpinning them can be engineered into hardware.

As part of the effort, which is being run out of Boeing’s Phantom Works advanced research and development facility in Seattle, the company is trying to solicit the services of a Russian scientist who claims he has developed anti-gravity devices. So far, however, Boeing has fallen foul of Russian technology transfer controls (Moscow wants to stem the exodus of Russian high technology to the West).

Boeing released a statement shortly afterwards saying:

"We are aware of Podkletnov's work on 'anti-gravity' devices and would be interested in seeing further development work being done. However, Boeing is not funding any activities in this area at this time."

"The recent report that we are is based on a misinterpretation of information. For instance, GRASP is not a codename for a current project but rather an acronym for a presentation entitled "Gravity Research for Advanced Space Propulsion," in which a Boeing engineer explains Podkletnov's theory and proposes that we should continue to monitor this work and perhaps even conduct some low-cost experiments to further assess its plausibility. No steps have been taken beyond this point by Boeing."

The present laws of physics appear to rule out the possibility of anti-gravity.

See also perpetual motion and perhaps the second law of thermodynamics as well.

Credulity is belief in slight evidence, with no evidence, or against evidence.

Reason: Well, ok, evidence;

yeah, i don't have any evidence. Boing denies it? Ok. And there are massive weapons in Iraq, and EEUU is saving the country.

you have that keely story of having achieved antigravity link and all that.

Credulity from my side? Maybe. Did the government of the USA kidnapped a lot of Tesla machines after he dead? Yes. And the other guy, Reich. They burnt a lot of his work too? Yes.

Then you have all that stories of tibetan monks moving things with sound. Yes, this is a story, no evidence.

But having OBE's is too against physic laws ruling right now. In tibetan folklore they're accepted. I accept the their existence too, since i've experimented them, but i can't give you evidence.

So well, any evidence. But maybe I'm just dubious, Quantum. Dubious on the **cking Wikipedia.

Ignoring wikipedia, have you ever seen an antigravity device that worked? Or a perpetual motion machine? Cold fusion?

Wouldn't discussion of anti-gravity technology be better suited to the Lab forum?

Yes.

On Water, I've always thought it was interesting that the suit of Cups in the Tarot is associated with social situations and emotions and intuition etc. and have often visualised them as coffee cups or glasses of wine or beer, beverages you chat over and that facilitate social interaction.

What do other people mentally associate with water? The sea? Cleansing? Quenching thirst?

Water, for me, is related to emotions, especially Love. The way you can be immersed in it, float comfortably in it, drown in it, be nourished by it, or choke on it.

And what is it... 75% of the Earth is covered with water and human bodies are 90% water? I think those are the numbers.

It connects with Temperance's mix of water and wine and the Star's outpouring of water (emotion).

I haven't seen a lot of things. A mu-meson, the Big Bang, the air ...

I met in university a guy who was developing water motors and his project was clausured.

No, Quantum, haven't seen any antigravity device. The same way that people was living besides a pyramid in bosnia without knowing.

I'm not fan of conspirancy theory, but, hell, denying it is just silly.

Do you really think your country's army doesn't develop anything in secret?

Conspiracy researchers deserve some respect. , since are looking in more ways than en.wikipedia.org. Yeah. Maybe eccentric. But hell, surely more than half of people you admire is eccentric ...

Look what I found, Quantum Stir Wands!

We can help improve the quality of Water on Earth and by doing so we will help ourselves. Quantum Stirwands are tools to help you accomplish this feat.

What material is used to develop the wands?

The Wands are made of one of the following medical grade PolyCarbonat resins: GE Lexans, Mitsubishi Lupilon, Bayer Makrolon. This material is the same that is used for artificial hips and is indestructible. In the wands there is a Mix (c) of special Minerals (c) with a High Matrix Frequency.

So they're charging you seventy bucks for a plastic stick with grit in it. Wonderful.

meditating on water I usually focus on a) it washing junk off of/out of me, or even washing "me" away bit by bit to reveal something else inside b) the rhythmic qualities bodies of water seem to have cooinciding with my breath coming in and out (even rivers seem to go in and out, up and down), c) the way water (or all liquids I suppose) always feels heavy and falls down, "seeking its own level" as they say, and at first I feel like I am being rained on but at the end I feel that it is me raining down on things (this part always feels extra peaceful for whatever reason), d) gooey mossey buggy moldy dirty real water in canals and rivers and lakes that has all kinds of life growing in it and doing other stuff, and the water in me therefore can help make me grow/regenerate damage as it supports the growth of all life.

whew.

Drowning, cold and alone. White noise (I can hear the ocean). Sea monsters. Dreams of the beach. You'll take a journey over water. Vampires can't cross running water.

I think I might have mentioned this before, but I always seem to go to the coast to dream. Sometimes the ocean will be a little distant but near enough to see out of the window, and sometimes it'll be lapping at the doorstep. Venetian flooded streets. Seafront walks with the waves slopping over the prom. Sea-caves and sea-temples. So I always associate water in large bodies with dreaming.

Are you people familiar with Stan Grof's work?

in his psychic regressions using hiperoxigenation or LSD, a recurrent theme is returning to senses of cosmic connections inside the womb.

So if hypothetically "quantum effects" on water does relate in some way to "mental effects", it fits with that experiences, since that period of time you're enterely sorrounded by water.

Conspiracy researchers deserve some respect.

They get respect when they provide evidence and not a second before.

in his psychic regressions using hiperoxigenation or LSD, a recurrent theme is returning to senses of cosmic connections inside the womb.

Being the eternal cynic that I am might I suggest that a possible reason for that sensation (assuming he actually was remembering his time in the womb) would be more to do with the womb essentially being a Gansfeld tank. Even assuming a baby had more than the seeds of conciousness whilst adrift in there it has relatively little sensory stimuli beyond touch and muted sound. It's more likely that the sensation of cosmic connectiveness comes more from an adult interpretating baby-level sensory experiences rather than the womb being some kind of quantum channeling device.

A coda to the Boeing anti-gravity story - which piqued my interest as, in my professional capacity, I've had quite a bit of contact with Boeing over the past few years. Yesterday I talked to an independent aviation consultant regarding Boeing's supposedly "secret" work on antigravity propulsion and he replied that whilst he hadn't personally come across any mention of this research, he wouldn't be surprised if Boeing were doing research, and if indeed they were, it would be almost certainly for military application.

The Nick Cook story is interesting to me because it raises the question of who is considered to be a "legitimate" source of authority/knowledge. The key players in this drama are Cook - the investigative journalist (consultant to Jane's Defence weekly), Russian scientist Eugene Podkletnov and former Boeing Phantom Works head honcho George Muellner - whom Cook claims emailed him regarding Boeing's interest in Podkletnov's work - and elsewhere it's claimed that Muellner spoke about antigravity research at the Farnborough Air Show in 2002. NASA and BAE Systems have also been doing research in this direction, and this is where the claims can, to some degree, be substantiated, as BAE's Project Greenglow involved several universities (for example The University of Glasgow and various researchers involved with BAE have been fairly open about discussing what the project was all about, and the findings of NASA's "Breakthrough Propulsion Physics" project are also in the public domain - abstracts & papers available here .

Cook is considered a authoritative source due to his association with Jane's and his track record as an aviation consultant. Podkletnov hasn't said anything much about his research for the past six years or so, and Boeing, as I posted earlier, have said that they are not pursuing research in this area. Muellner has been involved with several Boeing projects, some of which were classified (the Bird of Prey) and others, such as the Blended Wing Body which haven't made it past the conceptual stage.

Giuliano Preparata and Emilio Del Giudice, physicists at the Milan Institute for Nuclear Physics, demonstrated mathematically that closely packed molecules exhibit coherent domains. Kunio Yasue, a physicist at Okayama, Japan's Research Institute for Information and Science, found that water in cells organizes discordant energy into coherent photons -- a process called superradiance.

Water is for me is about time, (death, decay, rebirth, cycles of life etc etc), dreams, emotions, cleansing and some sorts of glamour. Working with water always leaves me feeling powerless. Which is sometimes welcome (i.e. go with the flow, have faith,) but often not (i.e. prepare for death tiny human, all you do is futile, "I am Ozymandias" etc etc.).
It's deeply connected to the heart and the idea of touching someone deeply. In fact the word "deep" could describe a lot of my interaction with water. It's about knowing their are currents below you that are hard to ride out and that if you want to have emotion/spirituality you have to shut up and put up.
