Do people ask for ability to do magic? Ask for a blessing, maybe, when doing a ritual?
Well, I do work with Freya and the other Vanir, but I haven't tended to actively court Their help with learning magic except for getting Their improving my skill in posessory work that directly involves Them. Though hmm, those skills directly relate to a lot of other Seidh skills, so I suppose it all comes around in the end.
Aside from that, I have occasionally asked for direct intervention on Their part, but I usually leave the method up to Them, rather than asking for Them to give me an ability I don't already have.
I have found myself discussing magical theory in dreams, in journey or meditation, and with posessed mediums with various gods and spirits, but rarely because I prompted for instruction.
