Well, I'll just forward it on to you then.
Ok. CA are now under the kindly, gentle wing of 'Mann Management'. Which, seeing as Ted has recently shivved some slag who was looking at him funny, thus doubling what was already close to a life sentence - never go for the uniforms, Ted ... never do that - now seems likely to be my company for the forseeable future. Let's face it, what can Ted do? Alone as he is, inside?
I feel like a genuine music biz impressario now! Like Simon 'X-Factor' would, I suppose, if more of his bands were prepared to admit that things like Guantanamo Bay exist in the first place. Although they wouldn't have to dwell on the details quite so much, arguably.
Anyway, I like what I've heard by CA ('Drinking Bleach Is Good For The Soul', 'She's Left You, Hasn't She? Like She Left Her My Little Pony? What A Fool You Were ... What A Fool ' and so on) so far.
My feeling, basically, is that CA and the guys should get out of the studio, and address their fans more directly. At the moment, the Disasters are a bit stuck on track three of the album, which is influenced by late Miles Davis, early Dead Kennedys and Madness (more the band than the condition though, sadly) and called 'Fisting Michael Foot'. So they need to get out of there, somehow.
As their manager, I'd feel as if I'd be remiss in my duties if I didn't make them, and CA, play to whatever audiences they might have in places like Hull. Or Scotland. Or Oxford university. Which I could have gone to, you know, if they'd ... if they'd just listened
Perhaps the tour begins there, then. Or possibly ends.
One way or another, I'll be keeping a diary, right here, live on Barbelith, when CA, The Disasters and I hit the road! Look out for us! |
