It's not really the point whether I'm personally offended ~ perhaps like most women online, I've been subject to a fair share of crass comments and witless flirting before ~ but what shocks me mildly is reading that kind of thing on Barbelith.
The issue is not whether I can personally deal with some discussion-board guy trying to reduce me to "tits" but that this way of trying to belittle female-identified posters in general, in principle, just cannot possibly be tolerated on this board. |
