No trick. Just let Sceptical know that there's plenty of time for hir yakkity yak after Mathmagician's done with what ze is doing. Seriously. You need Sceptical around but there is a time and a place for it.

The rational-skeptical bit of you is not your enemy. It's your ally against the forces of deluded moronery, which are mighty in the world of magic. However, you do need to learn to communicate with it effectively--your own self-doubt will likely try to masquerade as the Voice of Reason and you'll need to learn to spot the differences between them.

What I try to do (I say try because I'm still very bad at it really) is acknowledge rational-skeptical Mordant and let her know that her contributions are valued, but that they are not appropriate right now. I invite her to take a back seat and watch the proceedings quietly on the understanding that I will check in with her later.
