You know when you like something, but it's patently bloody stupid?

Hence it is for me with 187 Lockdown videos.

I have no shame.

I have This stuck in my head at the moment. I'd like to know if people think this is a good thing, a bad thing, or even cureable.

Am posting one more Kyuss tune, not because I just want to post tunes by them, but because this is them at their best, and it's easily one of my fave YT's ever. I was just getting into them when I first posted a couple of their tunes, but if I could go back now that I've listened to most of their stuff for the last couple of months, this would prolly be the one and only tune I'd put here : Green Machine

Not music per se, but music-related:

The Magnetic Fields' and Gothic Archies' Stephin Merritt interviewed.

Such an awkward interview.

Imagine the no-holds barred grind of the cream of the New Wave of Finnish Heavy Metal crammed into a bus and blasting out the sound of psychedelic rock and roll exploding like a star... only now you don't have to.

(It's Always) Boomtime, part one, first video from They Came From The Stars, I Saw Them. It's from their new album vs. Reality, and is somewhat grandiose, and more than a bit over the top, as anyone who's ever seen them live will attest. It's also quite infectiously good.

Good to see that Circle are as wombat-shite mental as ever.

However my enduring and steadfast adoration for the sax player from The Stars shows no sign of abating.

This is definitely one for when the booze needs to hit the back of the achey breaky heart - just in case anyone still thinks country is tame.

World/Inferno Friendship Society doing All The World Is A Stage (Dive) and Jeffrey Lee.

Not sure why the crowd are all just FUCKING STANDING THERE, though. I'd have been going mental.

Not YouTube as it happens, but here's an excerpt from Nurse With Wound's free instore show at Amoeba in LA in april this year. It's been tarted up in a suitably lysergic manner by Amoeba; and you can see my hat in there at a couple of points.

So what happens when you’re Van Halen, the last song in your set list is the million-seller “Jump” with its synthesizer-keyboard opening…and the recording you’re using to play back the synth is accidentally run at 48K instead of 44.1K?

What happens is exactly this (recorded in Greensboro, NC...)

With hilarious consequences; and the ending, even if the song were performed properly, is a superb piece of Spinal Tappery. Though if Van Halen's keyboards hadn't been off pitch, I wouldn't have been watching the video.

Air on G string, by Bach. On theremin.

Gosh, that *is* beautiful.

Nice, very nice.

More Theremin videos:

This version of "Crazy" is another great piece of Theremin work; the voicing is phenomenal. One of The Lothars tackles "Video Killed The Radio Star" live and at home.

Apologies if this has already been posted, but we can't get enough of this 'round my place.

The song's lovely, but it's the grins that get the laughs.

Ok, this is not exactly a favourite. In fact, I think it's a difficult, vile thing to watch, but that's undoubtedly the point.

The Skeptics' "A.F.F.C.O."

It's only safe for work if you happen to be employed in a slaughterhouse and or meat packing factory. Please don't watch it if imagery of animals being slaughtered and packed in plastic is likely to upset you. I certainly had to fast forward some parts of this video.

I'm privileged to know this guy and to just have seen him locally. I hope you won't mind checking out these two clips. There are definitely more exciting pieces recently that he can put up, and I hope he will, because it's amazing to watch him play, but these will give you a taste.

An assortment of YouTube goodness.

The instrument that looks at you: an orchestra of theremins shaped like matryoshka dolls plays Dvorak's "New World Symphony"

There are two more "matryomin" videos at the bottom of this page (they're .wmv files, so I won't link them directly here).

From the theremin to the mouth harp:

Aron Szilagyi playing at the Third Hungarian Jew's Harp Festival (This one starts out kinda aimless, but the groove kicks in at about 1:00 and doesn't quit - and here's the acoustic version)

Some beautiful melodic playing (and some Norwegian) by Ädne Seyland

Experimental harpist Nadishana plays 5 Dan Moi (a kind of Hmong mouth harp)

Two videos of French beatboxer Jean Jean rocking the mouth harp

Willie Hall plays stunt violin on the Spike Jones Show. Absolutely stunning.

Lastly, a great early Henson (musical) sketch.

The mighty POLYSICS strike again.

This band have been making my life better in innumerable ways since I was introduced to them in the Japanese music thread.

Usually they sound a bit like Joe Strummer trapped inside a robot, blowing apart an arcade machine full of saucepans with a nuclear-powered plasma cannon. Here they sound like Azumanga Diaoh's Chiyo-chan trapped inside a robot, blowing apart an arcade machine full of saucepans with a rainbow-powered plasma cannon.
