Again I say, you don't need to moisturize your face! This sheet on skin care myths backs me up. Skin is not moisturized from without. It's moisturized from the water within your body kind of slowly seeping outward. A layer of natural skin oils keeps you from losing too much water off the surface. Moisturizer is just yet another scam to keep you in skin care products... if you strip away all the natural oils from your skin with harsh soaps or cleansers and keeping it overly scrubbed, then you have to replace that lost oily layer with a fake oily layer, aka moisturizer. Only if your skin is really dry (or, I accept, if you have to shave the area) do you need to help it out a little with some external moisturizer.

Also on this sheet of skin care myths it notes that dry skin does not cause wrinkles. Ergo, not moisturizing your skin won't cause wrinkles either.

Okay, not to sound too much like a sitcom episode, but I have a date tomorrow and a HUGE zit has just appeared on my cheek. It is totally resistant to squeezing, what do I do?! (I assume the answer is foundation, but am hoping for a remedy that goes cause rather than symptom.)

You could try hacking off a large chunk of your flesh, but that would leave your face a tad un-even. You could then hack off another piece of your other cheek to even it out.

Seriously though, according to a friend who seems to be a dab hand at concealing these sorts of things here's what you should do..

You could try a dab of toothpaste to dry the zit out. This does tend to affect the surrounding skin as well, so it's just another temporary measure. I also hear from her that green concealer is excellent for hiding spots. I really don't understand how that works, other than turning your skin green, but she seems quite insistent that it works. Worth a shot, I suppose.

Well, after weeks and weeks of hard work (astringent, Clearasil 3-in-1, other things), my face looks only okay. Therefore, I'm going to see a dermatologist. Really soon. I'll keep everybody abreast (or is that aface) on matters concerning my countenance.
