That's to assume that political movements can't grow from grassroots groups isn't it?

No way. Not at all. It just assumes that grassroots political movements can't necessarily work if they're only based on models of consumption.

I'm another non-sacrificer. There are no shortage of things that I do in the interests of the environment but I have to say that all the steps I have taken can't be called sacrifice because I take delight in them. I enjoy finding new things to recycle. I enjoy cycling places instead of using public transport. I revel in telling shop assistants that I do not want the extra 37 layers of packaging that they want to foist on me and so on.

I would be prepared to make sacrifices but I'm still working on the other areas at the moment.

I am not sure where this should go, but I really want to share it with everyone.

The video is concise and in plain language. It clarifies the roles that are supported in the cycle of consumption/consumerism. A great video to pass onto people who might not "get it" when it comes to environmental concerns. It may not convince some stubborn-minded earth-dwellers, but it can't hurt them to watch this.

Also, lots of good ideas on the website, with links to other organizations who are doing something to help these concerns for our planet.

Thanks,I'm sure some will say it's naive, but, hey, you gotta start somewhere :-)
I'll be sure to pass it on to where I think it might do some good.
