alas: Sophia is with her grandmother, who tells us via long distance that she's not giving the little creature up once we get back home. We would have taken her, but she's still a little too young to "get" what's going on, and there's a dynamic with her older brother we're eager not to develop (the Chinese kids get all the fun, that kind of thing), and we simply couldn't afford to take both of them. Luckily, we're still close to (and close with) the grandparents, so it all worked out. She is *so* ready to have another body to boss around, and so *not* ready not to be the baby any more, so the first few weeks (months, years) home should be... interesting. |
