And I just PMd you some drivel, only to realize that you're obviously leaving tomorrow on this most important, non-drivel related event (NDRE). Drool, however, I understand often plays a significant role in these events. Safe travels!

We made it.

My morning:

Yes, a truly bizarre boat.

It carried us by:

My daughter's hometown, Fuling, which is now a city in its own right. In just two years, it's exploded.

My early afternoon:

He is in fine health, a good eater, and can almost crawl. We're amazed at how healthy he seems (although he has a cold now).

He's MOBILE.

He says "Dadadadada!"

Hi -- am in hotel room on timed connection, so brief.

You are all beautiful people.

alas: Sophia is with her grandmother, who tells us via long distance that she's not giving the little creature up once we get back home. We would have taken her, but she's still a little too young to "get" what's going on, and there's a dynamic with her older brother we're eager not to develop (the Chinese kids get all the fun, that kind of thing), and we simply couldn't afford to take both of them. Luckily, we're still close to (and close with) the grandparents, so it all worked out. She is *so* ready to have another body to boss around, and so *not* ready not to be the baby any more, so the first few weeks (months, years) home should be... interesting.

I'm bumping this because it's been a couple weeks and I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything from grant recently. Also- Barbelith: China? I have no idea how we would use the name, but I maintain we should use it for something.
