Let me be the first to warn you that Barbelith is full of liars. I, and possibly Stoatie, and Persephone if you can find her, are the only people you can trust.

Stoat doesn't lie, but he's dead wrong most of the time.

Sean is in love with me! He wouldn't hurt me for all the tai chi in China.

Jade, what is that animal on the Canadian flag?

We do have another Jade, Jade, but I think he died of looking in the mirror too much, so there should be no confusion. Or he stormed off in a huff because we made Jesus cry, that was it. So, there's a Jade-shaped hole now for you to fill.

Here you are now, entertain us...

Welcome, new people. It's sort of like the first day of a new school year. Don't let the bigger kids take you on any snipe hunts.

Or snark hunts.

a stupid cartoon bear.

He claimed to be smarter than the average cartoon bear. BooBoo was the brains really, though.

God, you go away for a day or two and look what happens. Why weren't they kept in the cupboard and groomed by the badgers until we were ready for them?
[Hat. Coat. M&S asscandle voucher. Rushes off]

Hi all! Good to see you finally made it. Remember, obey Denfeld, King of Barbelith, and, if you're so inclined, Pope Mordant. Careful not to start any schisms, now.

Play nice and know when to walk away.

I too am new.

Its been a while since I applied but not, it seems, as long as some appear to have waited. Anyhow I'm here now. *manic laugh; "Nothing can stop me now!"*

I am, for the most part, honest and truthful; unless the fiction is more amusing, and potent, than the facts. But I only use that power for 'good', which appears to be a family trait.

Anyway enough about me...

He claimed to be smarter than the average cartoon bear

Regrettably untrue. His claim was to be smarter than the average bear. The average bear, however, is a killing machine the size of a small car. As such, it has little need to be smart. Yogi has a necktie. Neither bright enough to live among man nor strong enough to compete with bears, he is left as a scavenger, preying on the picnic baskets of the weak.

Sad, really.

Hi

I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum having lurked for ages and just been given membership today

I am a thirty something professional Info Technology type (read Computer Geek here) living in the London area. The work may be drab and dull, but at least it gives me access to the www, although it does leave me wondering what people did at work before the internet.

Outside of all this work malarky I spend most of my time chasing ghosts, collecting books and working with magical systems so will probably be on the temple forum when I can. I also spend too much time watching Sci Fi and wishing I was off travelling someone soaking up sunshine, raiding tombs and stealing antiquities.

Hope to have some good conversations with you all.

Best Wishes

Paolo
