What's going on with AFC? I'm going drinking tomorrow night with an Aberdonian - what should I say to sound knowledgeable?

'Top six, eh? You reckon?'

'Need a proper striker.'

'That Dutch lad Snoyl's good, though.'

'Great season against Rangers, mind. Wish you could play them every week, probably.' (this one is really important.)

That suffice?

A secret handshake?

Is mounting the face not good enough for you guys now?

Spot on Dunc. Will try to drop them casually into the conversation. Not sure how convincing I'll be as he's seen the blank looks I generally give when asked by footballing chums: "did you see the game last night?" Having to ask "what game?" really gives me away.

So, are we doing this? Friday night?

The Falcon
15:11 / 13.03.06
I think we are, yeah. I'm mmmaybe coming, provided I don't accidentally catch a glance at my bank balance and blanche.

Okay, the Wally Dug, then? 7pm?

Map here.

Well I'll be there. I texted Toksik (try saying that after a few pints) and he indicated he was up for this. Mel, you still coming?
How are the other Glaswegians planning on travelling over there and shall we do it en masse?
Despite all my big talk earlier about being the master of the drunken train-ride I said I'd meet some friends saturday, so if someone has a floor I could kip on I'd appreciate it.
Oh, and of course all others are more than welcome to join us. Make yourselves known and don't worry about all that talk of candles.

Might actually be closer to 7.30-8.00 for us actually ... But no need to wait for us obviously!

We have a double futon available so that can sleep one or two depending on who snores. So toksik/phox/duncan if you need it it's there.

all that talk of candles

Yeah, I've only got a big bag of tealights.

Anyway, I have sofa and airbed, so that's two more if you need it. I shall volunteer to do the traditional thing and wear my FSM T-shirt (again) to be the group mascot to help new chaps find us.
I think the 13 is probably the best bus to get from Waverley if you don't fancy the walk.

I'm still coming, Phox. I'd like to meet up with at least some (though the more the better I think) before we get the train up. Seems to make sense and all. I'll PM my phone number to you and tokisk.

Is anybody heading back to Glasgow at the end of the night or is everybody taking advantage of those beautiful Edinbourghieanian's hospitality? What time is the last train anyhow?

Yeah, I've only got a big bag of tealights.

It's not the length. It's the girth.

if you don't fancy the walk

It's about 15 minutes walk! And that's on my short legs - toksik would do it in a single stride. Dearie me, young people today...

It looks like the last train's at 11.30, and there might be buses running later.

I'll prolly come back, assuming I go - much as I appreciate all the offers of hospitality (damn - 'sgood to feel wanted,) Mel. If we get into the station, we can either a) share a taxicab to the saath or b) you can show me how this cryptic 'bus system' in Glasgow works.

I finish work at 5:30 Friday so I can head over any time after that. I shall p.m. Duncan & Meludreen my mobile number. I'm not sure whether I shall be staying over now, it looks like my mate is busy this weekend, thanks for the offers though.

Well that was a top night. We'll do Glasgow soon.

Kneel before the power of the Scottish barb-clique.

I woke up and painted a saltire on my 'puss' straight away.

Cracking night. Cheers all.

That was a good night, you guys are all great. And yes, there needs to be a Glasgow based meet soonish.

Cube? I realised as soon as I left that I didn't say bye to you. Sorry about that. Ah well, deferred gratification I suppose. It'll make next time extra special.

Axolotl

It was an excellent night and it was really good to see everyone.

In a shameless effort to bump up the no of my posts:

Great to meet old friends and new - top night! HURRAH!

Always good to see a new face Blake Head. Was your first barbe-meet what you expected then?

Blake Head
21:04 / 21.03.06
Aye, though as mentioned on the night there was less fetish gear than I expected. Maybe I need a further level of initiation before I'm invited to "those" meets?
