Embarassed as I am to be doing this, I reckon it might be time.

My barberush du jour is Bedhead - for hir fucking astonishing illustrations, and hir bravery in the face of the hammers form this season.

And generally, becoz I barbecrush hir

Wow. Now, *that’s* a bloody nice surprise. And, equally embarassed as I am to be doing this, I'll now admit you’ve actually been my secret barbecrush ever since you invented that whole main dish/side dish thing, GGM. And for being clever and headshoppy, because you headshop theory kids always make me swooon. And for even more braveness in the face of Leeds Utd’s sad decline. And slight revival. Then another little decline. Then a bit of a revival. So, straightbackatcha.

Lemmesee, I’ve also got a bit of special pash for That Suedey. So nice! So funny! So outrageously talented!

Call me square, bu I find a little difficult to have a crush whitout knowing how they look like... or their gender. or their age. or their prefered sexual practices.

Jack Fear

Never loved someone for their mind, then?

Oh dear.

DM, I've barbecrushed on Triplets for months now. Because hir posts are funny, clever, and succinct. And often insightful. It's the suit I crush on, not the person. That's the difference between barbecrushes and IRL ones.

Aertho
15:50 / 14.01.06
I crush on Mr. Fear too, but it's mostly one of those hot-for-teacher things.

Ganesh
15:51 / 14.01.06
I crush Id Entity for being patient, gracious and reasonable with me in the turbulent trans thread.

ibis the being
16:22 / 14.01.06
I do find this quite embarrassing... I'm not the type to foster crushes. However I have a longstanding Barbecrush on dizfactor. That kind of crush where you hope you don't say anything stupid when ze's around, omigod, ze'll think I'm the biggest dork!

The Falcon
16:30 / 14.01.06
I'll barbecrush the first person to use a gender-specific pronoun in this thread.

Olulabelle
16:44 / 14.01.06
I crush Nina because she frequently posts what I think but am too unsure of myself to say. And because she has a very nice pair of trainers.

Note: I do actually mean this. I didn't just post it so I could use a gender specific pronoun.

Jack Denfeld
19:03 / 14.01.06
I'll crush you like a jelly bean

I crush Nina because she frequently posts what I think but am too unsure of myself to say. And because she has a very nice pair of trainers.
One time 2004 World Series of Poker champion Greg Raymer was in England, and he called the local poker club to see what the dress code was and they said "no trainers", and he thought this meant sweatpants or something, so he showed up in slacks a t-shirt and some sneakers and was turned away.

I have to admit, I totally barbecrushed everyone involved with the whole from-the-bleed debacle, but most especially haus for his amazing ability to be reasonable, funny, ironic, and clever while also managing to go completely over mr. h's head.

I'm barbecrushing on Ganesh right now.... For some time he's put up with my half-baked ideas on psychology, and everytime I come up with something half-assed, he reasonably and calmly tells me otherwise.

Also, Haus for alerting everybody to that problem from teh bleed and for dealing with him in that calm, cool, collected Haus-way like he does everytime.

alas because there are very few members of the board who are as kind in opposition or as sensible and politically sound.

I feel as though I should be Barbecrushing on Gypsy Lantern. If only to make the chance of the film discussed over in the I remember you from such films as... thread happening more likely.

[swoon] Awwww! Thanks, Nina. [/swoon]

Mordant Carnival. Is there a more wickedly funny human being on this earth? I think not. I grovel at the feet of thee, MC.

I resolved to have proper Barbecrushes this year, so I'm crushing...

...Seth, Illmatic, Mordant Carnival, Ganesh and Lepidopteran for their support at important points throughout the year.

...toksik, cuz he's maaaaaaaad.

...Nina, for unexpected grace and well-wishes.

...MacReady, for trading comics with me (still haven't arrived, still looking forward to it).

...Xoc, for reminding me of the relative merits of Quantity when compared to Quality.

...the Fool, for sharing his art and sending me a PDF. It's with me always.

...Haus, for Barbequoting me. Damn, that was a nice feeling.

Jeebus, Marie, and Yusef! I forgot...

...a sunshiny, ocean-side crush for grant, Steward of the Atlantic Hurricane Season 2005 thread, for offers of help and kind words. He even tried to help me find a job! Wotta guy.

(Sorry, man.)

Never loved someone for their mind, then?

Not in a sexual manner, no. But I befriend a lot of people for their minds, yes.

On the other hand:

It's the suit I crush on, not the person. That's the difference between barbecrushes and IRL ones.

If that's the case (and never mind the fact I'm not even sure what "IRL" stand for), I might have to confess a small barbecrush for Money $hot and his SD threads.

I also have a love/hate relation with Mordant Carnival. Her poss are always insightfull and wise, and often funny, but she does get a little preachy and PC for me. Sorry, MC, but I swear it's a 1/3 hate - 2/3 love ratio...

Jack Fear
18:46 / 16.01.06
IRL = In Real Life.

What's "SD"?

("PC" I know—that's the one that stands for "Trying To Make Me Feel Bad About The Obnoxious Prejudices To Which I As A Top-Dog Am FULLY ENTITLED And Which I Celebrate As God Intended, Because After All, What's Privilege For If Not The Right To Despise With Impunity?")

(As you can tell, they shaved it down a bit.)

Galvatron, have a read of this and come back.

Dead Megatron

"SD"stands for Santo Daime. M$ has a thread on it in the Temple.

Anyway, don`t call me Galvatron

I Barbecrush Jack Fear. Again. High up on my list of "Barbeloids I'd most like to meet, if the world was smaller and pubs larger".

Hey, Dead Megatron - could you provide a link to an example of Mordant Carnival being preachy and PC for me? It's for research purposes. Cheers!

Evil Scientist

SDV and me seem to have a love-hate thing going. You just know we're going to have a vicious punch-up that ends in bed.

SDV, I barbecrush yoooooooou!

He hasn't gone, has he?

Or am I missing a joke somewhere?

Ninjas make great pets
12:11 / 17.01.06
Stoatie. I crush you like a blissed out grape between the thighs of a nubile Tahitian Godlette for your tiny shrews and trouser presses and simply wonderfully visual names and quick (crazy?) mind

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
12:13 / 17.01.06
Ooh thank you (although I believe it was Haus who brought the shrews. I'm more a ferrets'n'badgers type meself).

ONLY NICE THINGS
12:17 / 17.01.06
I saw baby shrews. They look like speech bubbles - little round things with a tiny point at one end.

He hasn't gone, has he?

Dead, alas, but at least, like Bop, his elderly grandma has found some comfort here.
