There's also Alan Moore on Gothic Nightmares at Tate Britain, 25th March. You don't book tickets for the talk, but you book tickets for the Gothic Nightmares show from 3:00 to 4:00 and he'll be doing his thing then.

RADA is opposite University of London Union (aka ULU) and very close to The Plough pub and the British Museum. The nearest station is Goodge Street on the Northern Line. I may or may not be at the event, but possibly folk might want to meet in The Plough or RADA bar before or aftywards?

I completely forgot to turn on my recording equipment. The dicussion was Mostly fascinating, but some of the audience questions were quite banal. A couple of them were really good, particularly one that involved a chat about the post WW2 reaction to romanticism. Alan Moore to Michael Moorcock physically was Rock Star to Professor.

Most amusing moment was an anecdote by Moorcock about meeting a large texan who would have been more than a match for himself and Alan Moore combined. You could almost see Alan trying to protest the idea with the power of his magic rings. Or something.

It wasn't until the end that I realised I was chatting and sat next to comics commentator Rich Johnston and his missus.

Sorry I didn't come to find you afterwards, Quantum. It was awkward timing, that's all. Hope you had fun!

When I rang to book the March 25th gig they suggested booking the 2:30 or 2PM slot as a 3:00 ticket only lets you in AT 3:00 and the talk is starting then and they expect a queue.

Damn them, they've obviously changed their mind since I phoned. The timed tickets thing is supposed to get people going at a steady throughput, I would hope for this that they actually clear people out for earlier hours so those of us who got the tickets for the correct time have some chance of getting in. May have to phone again...

I didn't think to ask about tickets, but have been assured that if I have a ticket for that time, I will be going in. They're using the area where they just finished the Degas and Toulouse Lautrec exhibition, though it is being rebuilt, hopefully to larger rooms, though the person I spoke to was unable to say whether Alan Moore's talk would be in one place or whether he's roaming around the exhibition.

From speaking to a rep just now I'm doubtful they realise how popular this will be. I'm also doubtful as to whether people with valid tickets will be able to get in...
