Your impressions of a Disney version of a six year old tomboy are not funny. SHUT UP GAIMAN. Your blog is even worse than your novels.

Misty, I used to work in a shop where they had Travis: The Best Of on loop. It was actually unbearable. Despite popular impressions of them as nice little men with nice little perma-flaccid penii from having their groins wrapped very tightly in warm towels all their life, one of the earlier songs, "Under Sixteen Girls", contains the following lyrics:

I met a girl in L.A.
The million dollar kind
She was all for all or nothing
She was open all the time
But when I called her number
Her mother’s on the line sayin’
You’ve no business
As god’s my witness
With a child as young as mine

Shudder. It's like that bit from trainspotting, right down to the Scotchness, except narrated in jokey laddish troubadour fashion. At least the trainspotting guy was a smackhead.

So, Shut Up Travis! And possibly throw away the key.

God help us, if Travis and Gaiman ever team up!

Every day I wake up and it's Sunday
Gaiman's in my head, he won't go away
The radio is playing Best of Travis
And what's a nitercourse anyway

I really don't think, for instance, black people and white people will ever really get on or like each other

SHUT UP MORRISSEY!

I'm beginning to get the appeal.

You can grab The Problem Of Susan off Amazon if you feel like going at it two pages at a time. Although the story does contain White Witch/Aslan slash which may cause some of you to say SHUT UP GAIMAN.

I'll hold on to my whimsy for now.

Oh Good Lord. Het (A/WW). Does this mean we have to shut up Gaiman and throw away the squee?

Is it het when it involves a lion? Is that not something else entirely. I mean I know Aslan is anthrowhatorphised but calling him human is going a bit far off the physical recognition trail is it not?

Or am I just biased against the humanity of talking lions?

SHUT UP GAIMAIN.

Get your own shut up thread. This one's devoted to Gaiman.

To get us into the spirit of the season...

Sing a song of GAIMAN SHU-U-UTTING UP
Four and twenty people punching him in the face
And when his jaw is broken, the people all do sing
SHUT UP GAIMAN

I'm a little confused about the tune that these words are to be sung to. Please elaborate.

Good lord, people. Do we think maybe this is getting a bit out of hand. I'm as much in favour of iconoclasm as the next Indigo Child, but given the trouble that was caused when I suggested that another visionary of comics was married to a lady, this stuff is taking on a distinctly dangerous edge.

Why, Sing a Song of Sixpence, of course. Can't you tell?

Perhaps my last post was a little strong. If you think it's genuinely worrisome, Haus, I'll move for a deletion.

Oh, I don't know - I mean I'm aware that much worse has been said of Cheney or Rumsfeld and nobody has batted an eyelid, including me. And I still think that George emerged with astonishingly little credit from Smearogate. However, it does strike me that people, especially people who might Google their own names, do potentially read this stuff, and ... well, it's not quite as if Neil Gaiman is sanctioning torture or trying to develop low-yield nuclear weapons. At least to my knowledge.

Oh, God. It's Christmas, isn't it? I've gone all soppy.

Regrettable Juvenilia

It's true that there have been moments when my resolve has weakened, and I've wondered, "is a whole thread devoted to telling a man who wrote a few good comics, especially that one about the guy in the diner making people blind themselves and shit, really justified?"

In moments like that, I find re-reading this very helpful. It had much the same effect on me as Dr Destiny did on that woman who blinded herself AH DO YOU SEE...

Arguably. If you follow the interpretation that it is about the provision of the 12 deeds to Henry by the Abbot of Glastonbury, then the pie is the same pie as the one little Jack Horner is eating, which is indeed a Christmas pie. Not sure I believe a word of it, mind.

Xoc, that album is described as being "so rare it may not exhist"

Goodness, you mean I have sent off £1,602 to Amazon for nothing? Shit.

Can I just say here that, if nice Mr Gaiman does happen across this thread, I didn't mean any of the silly, childish stuff I said upthread. Haus made me say it. Sue him.

It's not quite as if Neil Gaiman is sanctioning torture

No. But it does seem as if he's actively involved in dishing it out. The above link, courtesy of WOW, is truly something terrible to behold. What was going through Neil's mind, is the question I keep coming back to.

Once I'm as famous, handsome and successful as Neil G, (this is only a matter of time,) I'm going to get whoever it is that I've hired to feed me drugs on the fab, fading veranda to gently unhook me from the internet, even as they're preparing my teatime 'hotshot.'

And, more seriously, the Sandman was pretty good, after all?!!! I (black eyeliner) rather (black leather trenchcoat) feel that I'd have been a different person today if I hadn't read that.

It went on a bit though didn't it?
