I can't believe I held this one back from you, Barbelith. I'm so sorry. Somethingawful.com's fashion SWAT on superheroes.

They dissed Adam Warlock. That's not right.

hmmmm.

Here, make your own, I bet Liefeld uses this;

"What would you prefer, yellow spandex?!"

Apparently, the horde of stereotypical fanboys do indeed.

That hero generator is kind of funny. I made a guy who had wings AND a horse.

How redundant.

It's interesting how, without (apparently) knowing anything about the character, they managed to sum up his whole point. Rebellious teen kid against a deadly, goofy, cosmic backdrop.

Or am I getting him confused with Damien Hellstrom again?

Rebellious teen kid against a deadly, goofy, cosmic backdrop.

You just described every superhero since 1960.

I present: Typeface!

Incidentally, he is a master of speaking English. He fights, day in, day out against poor grammar, terrible spelling, and above all...TYPOS!

Sperherose 'would' look ;ike that, danmnt, they bhave powers beyond the ken of mortalo man!

It appears that Alex's Grandmother is his archenemy.

I wouldn't worry much about it, though.

Not Spidey, Chad. He was a geek, not a rebel.

I always kept expecting Mullet Superman to pull out a Swiss Army knife and fix some problem on the Watchtower.

LDones
00:10 / 20.10.05
I imagined mullet Superman secretly listening to Journey records in the Watchtower while everyone was away, not understanding, but knowing they were for him, feeling somehow that Steve Perry was singing just for him.

Wonder Man has always had unfortunate luck with costuming.

Bill, you are far too tactful. I don't think we need to worry about hurting this guy's feelings...especially if he goes out wearing this...FOR 7 YEARS.

"Wonder Man"? More like "Wonder What The Hell I'm Wearing Man".

Hmm. I have a Belstaff jacket like that, but in cream leather rather than red, uhh, whateverthatfabricis.

Personally, I want that outfit.

I'd rather dress in that Wonder Man costume than in about 90% of the costumes out there.

Might even do so tonight... who knows....

Bard: One-Man Humaton Hoedown
19:38 / 20.10.05
Dude, Oddman...you diss a good costume. I would SO wear that outfit if I could get away with it! I'd need to lose 20 pounds, then gain it all back in muscle...but still!

Note to self: get haircut before mullet develops. I am not nearly cool enough to be MacGyver.

Granted this design is a bit dated. but c'mon: Dig the Disco collar, the fat braclets OVER the gloves, the plunging neckline (& shaved chest) then there's the Dark blue Light Blue and Yellow?.

At least this was before he grew out that Mullet he had for about 5 issues.

Wasn't Nightwing's disco collar based on Boston Brand a.k.a. Deadman's circus costume? Why does that collar look so good on Deadman, even after all these years?

Aertho
23:05 / 20.10.05
The collar gives the impression of a "mystical" cloak, but doesn't follow through. Deadman's a dead guy who's lighthearted and stands between Heaven, Hell, and Earth. The collar grants him just the right amount of gravitas, and just the right kind of connotation.

Didn't think there was an answer to that, didja?

*raises hand* I too liked leather jacket Kon. Back then it was a sort of relevant take on the Superman costume.

Anyhow, here's my contribution. Hypno hustler:

Nice outfit, Cosmic Boy. Did the prostitute you stole it from give you much trouble?

I thought that was Dr. Frank-N-Furter, until I realized that wasn't Tim Curry.

I've noticed quite a few George Perez-designed costumes showing up in this thread. He's a great artist, but on the evidence presented here, his costume design is pretty dodgy. Can anyone point to some costumes he designed that are actually any good?

Haus of Mystery

George Perez is the disco artist. The Teen Titans had the whole gender-bending thing down.

Also - The Hypno Hustler has a bad costume? I think you all need to find the fun. I know leather jackets and guns are cool and sexy and grown up, but...

Perhaps Alex Ross could redesign the Hypno Hustler, and give him some realism and DIGNITY.

Juan_Arteaga

About George Perez, while most of his costumes do tend to suck, I would say his design for Deathstroke the Terminator, if he worked on it, had many good parts and very little garish ones.

Alright, now for a guy who can do almost anything...He can't find some cool looking clothes?!?!?

This guy should be the most badass mother effer in the galaxy...but does anyone find Gladiator intimidating?

He's probably related to the original OMAC...The haircut gives it away, really.

Speaking of Ol' Mac...

He was a goofy looking bastard too, wasn't he?

Super mohawks!

I'm reminded about Warren Ellis' words on the subject of Deadman. Discussing what the worst proposal ever sent to him by DC:

"This guy from DC calls me up and says 'I want you to revive an old character, I'll send you some photocopied material'. This character is called Dead Man. His special power: he's dead. His costume has a big D on the front just so you know he's DEAD. Deadman, coming to save the day by being dead."

Bard: One-Man Humaton Hoedown

...though in reference to the original OMAC...

...A train that rides to DOOM!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Bard, I swear, with that comment about Deadman...You just made my day. Thank you. I actually laughed out loud.

Awesome.

I have to agree with MacGyver. The fun really needs to be found.

Jesus, OMAC is incredible, nearly up there with MODOK, imo.
