How was it?

It was fun, with a few people in Halloween masks popping by, if few others as there was no doubt a glut of parties on that night. We danced like loons at the end to Laibach, of course.

Thanks to delayed building works on the Old Blue Last (are there any other kind of building works?), this Saturday's Kosmische on 26th Nov. has been cancelled. However, the building works are to make the upstairs suitable for full live gigs, so the New year should hold some better news...

*Bumping into the Neue Jahr*

The Kosmische Club retruns to the Old Blue Last, now the bulders are done with the refurb. It'll be on the first Saturday of the month, commencing on 7th January 2006 from 8pm, with Miasmos/Somasim* live on the brand new stage and the usual Kosmische DJs playing the (un)usual Kosmische sounds. Sadly it will no longer be free to get in, but the night goes on for longer and it's a measly £3 door pressure.

Good heavens, I'll just have to bump this myself...

Well, we're back, on Saturday 4th February at the Old Blue Last, this time with Ommm (signed to Adaadat Records, where it says: "OMMM is the pseudonym used by a reclusive Tibetan guru linked to the ADAADAT label. Rarely seen in public, his devotional performance style and mysterious, shifting rhythms and harmonies have been known to drive worshippers into such a frenzy that they began to eat each other. Raw.")

Which sounds intriguing to me, and I'm probably DJing there...

Last time round we were playing much Sun Ra and Congotronics plus Front 242 and Psychic Tv among all the usual Kraftwerk, Cluster and Can. So do come along, Barbelith folk, and join the throng.

Kosmische rocked Shoreditchites in ways they were not expecting.

The place was rammed, largely with trendy young things who came upstairs as the downstairs was already packed. So they were treated to the delights of extra guest act Plugman, who made 6 minutes of fine Japanoise. The looks on the faces of the Whitesnake fans and smartly-dressed geezers was worth millions as they endured brain-splitting aural pain. And how better to follow up Cau_cational Betreet's improv rockout than with a dose of Barbelith's own Hunting Lodge and then Burning Idiot Noise? The latter two on record only, unfortunately.

Niced to see you and I. again after all these years, Seaglass - it really is a small interweb out there.

Not sure exactly when the next one as, as the regular night on 4th March is going to be overtaken by another Kosmische event - Sunburned Hand of The Man + Hush Arbors + others at Corsica Street Studios in Elephant and Castle.

However, we might be able to shift to another night in March, even though it might be a Sunday.

Seth: I would like nothing better than to have Hunting Lodge play live at Kosmische - but it's not my decision in the end. But I can work on persuading the powers that be!
