Charged transducer about an hour or two ago, (yeah, I was running late, but a friend invited me to see Jay and Silent Bob, stuff came up, etc, etc) and buried a mango in the local graveyard- which seemed appropriate, as there's bound to be some people there who died in less than peaceful circumstances- if not war, then violent crime.
Then I came home, and, whilst preparing myself a chip sandwich (with mango chutney) myself and my flatmate had a fairly large scale argument- about not much, just stuff that had been brewing for a while... Which, I assume, either means a) Transducer is doing the opposite of working, or b), which I consider far more likely, helped burst the psychological bubble, spewing psychic pus all over flat, bringing long term peace at the expense of short term peace, or at a stretch, c) irony demons, attracted by my mango-work, decided to spew forth with the hate and bile... or d) coincidence.
Being an optimist, I'm going with b)- time will tell, I suppose... I guess it's good to be getting some kind of result, even if only on a local basis...Act local, think global, and all that jazz.
Actually, the way my head is at the mo, vaguely exploring alternative solutions to our conflict, I'm pretty damn certain of b).
Yay Transducer -Go Mango!
Nobody said the peace process was going to be entirely pleasant...
I suppose I could babble about how, by clearing the air a little, it allows people to think in ways that their anger prevented them from, allowing new perspectives, synthesis thru conflict rather than hippy-dippy peace'n' love and no bad vibes, ever, pseudo-bollocks...vaguely like the whole barbefeuds thread, I guess... what happens if Transducer works by provoking useful conflict, rather than pointless conflict, releaseing pent-up frustration and allowing change?
All of which is probably waaaaay too much to read into one, small argument at a relatively meaningful time.
But (possibly?) interesting...
I'm trying to think how this would apply on a global/geopolitical scale: Suppose, for example, due to the events of Sept 11, and the following war, the peace movement grows, and becomes roughly like it was with the anti-Vietnam war- America was, arguably, practically in a state of civil war, closer to revolution than it has for a long time...(I may be bullshitting here, my american history isn't too hot, but it doesn't matter that much to my speculative projection to future events). So suppose, by developing conflict between the peace movement and the %"Establishment"% it forces a major change in American Foreign Policy, bringing about world peace?
Random thoughts, of course, but hopefully interesting, to *somebody* at least. Feel free to come to your own conclusions about the noise/signal ratio! |
